“水下的时光是很枯燥的。一圈一圈数数，没有人对话，如果这么难的运动她都坚持下来了，我相信以后没有什么能难倒她。”谈起女儿这项体育爱好，Aaralyn妈妈有着清醒的认知。

Creating a "childhood with permission" has given Aaralyn a suit of armor that will protect her for a lifetime.And swimming is a key word that runs through Aaralyn’s growth.

"Time underwater can be quite tedious—counting laps over and over again, with no one to talk to. If she can stick with such a tough sport, I believe there’s nothing she can’t overcome in the future." When talking about her daughter’s passion for swimming, Aaralyn’s mom has a clear and sensible perspective.

纵然游泳是Aaralyn自己选中的热爱，可她也会有倦怠的时候。

“有次她又说肚子疼，我明白这可能是想要逃避。我们就去了医院，医生说应该没有太大的问题，也不排除是成长中的正常痉挛。我说，没事，医生，咱们把所有相关检查做一遍。最后我拿着一切正常的检查单告诉Aaralyn，妈妈可以帮你解决问题，但属于你该承担的，也要靠自己做好。”

Even though swimming is a hobby Aaralyn chose for herself, she still has moments of weariness.

"Once she said she had a stomachache again, and I knew it might be an excuse to skip practice. We went to the hospital, and the doctor said there shouldn’t be any major issues, though it couldn’t be ruled out that it was just normal cramps during growth. I said, It’s okay, doctor—let’s run all the relevant tests. In the end, I took the all-clear test results and told Aaralyn: Mom can help you solve problems, but you also have to take responsibility for the things that are your duty."

那一次，小Aaralyn读懂了妈妈好脾气背后的原则，从此再也没为逃避训练寻找借口。日复一日的坚持，不仅让她在专业赛场上斩获一项项亮眼佳绩，更在她的心底悄悄埋下了勇气与坚持的种子。

“她以前是个小哭包，稍微说两句眼泪就掉下来了。现在不管遇到什么，心态都稳得让人惊讶。”

That time, little Aaralyn understood the principles behind her mom’s gentle exterior. From then on, she never made excuses to avoid training again. Day after day of persistence not only earned her impressive achievements in professional competitions, but also quietly planted seeds of courage and perseverance in her heart.

"She used to be such a little crybaby—tears would start falling if you said even a few words to her. Now, no matter what happens, she stays calm and composed, which is truly surprising."

让她印象最深的是一次英语考试，Aaralyn只考了89分——一向乐观的妈妈，坐在驾驶座上都忍不住有些小忐忑。

“我在后视镜里看见她，一路上不说话，静静望着窗外。到家后，她主动开口了，妈妈，我想了想这次为什么没有考好，一是做题的时候不够认真，二是那天状态确实不太好......”

看到孩子能自我反思，Aaralyn妈妈忽然释然了。

One incident that stuck in her mom’s mind was an English exam where Aaralyn only scored 89 points. Even the usually optimistic mom couldn’t help feeling a little nervous while sitting in the driver’s seat. 

"I looked at her in the rearview mirror—she didn’t say a word the whole way, just stared quietly out the window. When we got home, she took the initiative to speak up: Mom, I’ve been thinking about why I didn’t do well this time. First, I wasn’t careful enough when doing the questions; second, I really wasn’t in a good state that day…"

Watching her daughter reflect on her own, Aaralyn’s mom suddenly felt a sense of relief.
