Canadian International School Kunshan (CISK) has been fully accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC), effective from 29 January 2026.
This achievement demonstrates both international recognition and a sustained dedication to educational excellence, professional standards, and institutional accountability.
WASC | Global Education United by Rigorous Standards
WASC is a prestigious international accrediting organization which evaluates schools through self-reflection, evidence-based review and continuous improvement rather than short-term outcomes.
Full accreditation for K-12 indicates that a school consistently meets the three core domains, which encompass 12 standards covering governance and leadership, curriculum and teaching, student support and school culture.
In Jiangsu Province, only four schools hold WASC accreditation. As the only authorized IB Continuum School in Kunshan, CISK has now achieved full K-12 WASC accreditation, fully demonstrating the consistently high standards upheld by the school.

Throughout the accreditation process, CISK fully integrated WASC standards into the school’s governance and daily operations, conducting ongoing systematic self-evaluation and improvement in core areas like curriculum, student support, faculty development, school culture, and community collaboration.
In September 2025, the ACS WASC Visiting Committee conducted a three-day, on-site review at CISK. The team observed classrooms, reviewed documents, analyzed data, and held in-depth talks with the leadership team, teachers and staff, students, and parents. Based on this comprehensive and objective evaluation and the prior self-evaluation outcomes, CISK was awarded the Full Accreditation status for K-12.
