In the recently held Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad (SEAMO), Primary pupils from Hiba Academy Hangzhou delivered an outstanding performance, standing out amid strong nationwide competition and securing multiple awards.
Among them, Andy, a Grade 4 pupil, was awarded the National Gold Award; Billy, Evan and Sky, Grade 5 pupils, received National Silver Awards. In addition, nine pupils from Grade 2 to 5 achieved National Bronze Awards, collectively demonstrating the pupils' strong mathematical foundations and impressive analytical thinking skills.
SEAMO is an international mathematics competition for pupils across the Asia-Pacific region, with a focus on logical reasoning, problem-solving and the integrated application of cross-disciplinary thinking. Beyond assessing pupils' understanding of mathematical concepts, the competition places strong emphasis on analysing real-world problems, thinking flexibly and communicating ideas clearly.
These excellent results reflect not only the pupils' individual dedication and perseverance, but also the Primary School's long-term commitment to cultivating depth of thinking, learning resilience and enquiry-based learning in mathematics. We are immensely proud of our pupils' achievements and look forward to seeing them continue to use mathematics as a bridge to explore the wider world throughout their learning journey.
