Our Little Learners celebrated Chinese New Year with a joyful and sensory-rich session. We began with story time, reading My First Chinese New Year, where the children explored traditions described in the book and some families shared how these traditions are part of their own celebrations.

We then moved into music and movement, playing drums and using red scarves to explore rhythm and motion. The children noticed how the sound of the drums changed when the scarf was placed on the drum compared to when it was removed, encouraging curiosity and observation.

Creativity followed as we made red envelopes to take home and engaged in process art using gold, silver, and rose gold foil alongside red tissue paper to explore texture, lines, and structure. The creations were entirely child-led, supporting imagination and independent expression.

We ended our session with nursery rhymes and Chinese songs, singing together to welcome the Chinese New Year as a community.

Our Little Learners new class starts on 6th March 2026.
