Three years ago, we proudly announced LEH International School Foshan’s achievement of the prestigious COBIS Accredited Member status, a landmark recognition that made us the first school to successfully complete the provisional accreditation route. Since April 2023, LEH Foshan has been proudly listed on the COBIS website, joining an elite group of only 14 member schools (the first one in Guangdong Province) in China.
From transformative student competitions and professional collaborations to exclusive global events, our COBIS membership is not just a badge of quality; it is a dynamic, living connection that fuels excellence, opens doors for our students, and reaffirms our commitment to providing a world-class British education in Foshan.
Global Learning Through COBIS Competitions
All our Prep School students have been able to showcase their talents and develop new skills through COBIS's diverse range of competitions. We have recently entered the Art and poetry competitions. COBIS provides pathways for our students to be recognised for their character and contributions, not just academic achievements. It also helps students compete against other COBIS schools worldwide.

Looking forward to the next academic year, we will be looking at entering the following new competitions that COBIS is going to start offering. The first one, the Student Achievement Awards, is explicitly open to students in Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11). Nominated students receive a digital certificate recognising their accomplishments, and a charitable donation is made on behalf of each nominated student. The second one we will be entering is the inaugural Changemakers Competition (open to Key Stage 1-5 students), which invites teams to plan and carry out projects tackling real challenges linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals in their local communities. This programme helps students develop creativity, confidence, and leadership skills from an early age.
Influence on Teaching and the Academic Experience
COBIS membership has had a tangible impact on both our teachers and students. For staff, it provides access to professional development opportunities, collaborative networks, and shared expertise across international contexts. Teachers benefit from engagement with fellow COBIS schools through training events, competitions, and regional professional dialogue, enabling the sharing of best practice and curriculum innovation. These opportunities strengthen teaching quality while ensuring our staff remain connected to developments across global British education.
For students, the academic experience has also been enriched through wider strategic developments aligned with COBIS expectations of holistic education. The expansion of Sixth Form provision, the appointment of STEAM and Computer Science coordinators, strengthened learning support assessment, and the growth of academic tutoring programmes all reflect a commitment to ensuring every student can thrive.
LEH Foshan is committed to long-term quality, international integrity, and continuous improvement. Independent external review confirms that our safeguarding, governance, teaching, and student provision meet globally recognised standards, while also recognising the distinctive character of our school community.
Over the past three years, our international identity has strengthened considerably. With students now representing nearly 30 nationalities, LEH Foshan is clearly recognised as a genuinely international school delivering a British curriculum within a diverse global community. COBIS Patron’s Accreditation reassures families that LEH Foshan offers something enduring, a school grounded in internationally validated quality, and constantly striving to become even better for the students it serves.
