In Grade 1, students acted as courageous learners by demonstrating resilience and pride while participating in the Spelling Bee contest. During Maths, children bravely tackled the 0, 1, 2, and 3 times tables by applying familiar strategies such as the number line and the hundred chart to these new concepts.

Across all grades, they ventured into unfamiliar musical territory—exploring new instruments, musical elements, experimenting with unconventional sounds, and stepping outside their comfort zones to discover how music truly works.

This week in art class, our students transformed into risk takers as they ventured into the unknown with the cyanotype process. They used UV lamps and cyanotype solution to capture the unpredictable interactions between light and chemicals. Rather than following a guaranteed outcome, they took creative risks, adjusting exposure times and rearranging different materials to see what unexpected patterns would emerge.

Students from Grade 1 to Grade 6 continued their Scratch programming unit with a focus on caring respectfully. Students identified elegant language and shared their personal interpretations, discovering that literature invites us to step beyond the page and into a world of wonder.

Ms. Nicky: Grade 2 students became "little explorers of ancient poetry" and embarked on a delightful journey through classical Chinese poetry. They courageously uncovered the scenes and emotional treasures hidden within the poems, and even challenged themselves to retell the main ideas in their own words. With every attempt, they took another brave leap forward in their learning journey!

Carol: Grade 1 students learned subtraction within 20.  Learning to subtract by breaking numbers apart required them to try new strategies and persist through challenges. Students shared their thinking processes openly, even when uncertain, and discovered that mistakes offer valuable learning opportunities. Through hands-on activities and collaborative problem-solving, they built both mathematical confidence and a willingness to embrace new challenges.

Ms. Leaf: In the G3 symmetry activity class, the students fully demonstrated their willingness to take on challenges and try new things. They boldly explored the beauty of symmetry, carefully folding and cutting to create traditional "double happiness" papercuts. They made spinning tops by hand, learning through rotation and discovering the joy of rotational symmetry. Filled with curiosity and confidence, they independently designed and crafted unique symmetrical creations. Each creative attempt showcased their courage to explore the unknown, and every new discovery sparkled with the brilliance of imagination and innovation.

They were guided to master dynamic force techniques for accurate throwing at various targets. It was more than just a dance lesson—it was a breakthrough in confidence and a meaningful step forward in their personal development.
