A Joyful Exchange ｜粤港同心，欢乐同行——香港闽侨小学师生到访东莞ASJ开展交流活动

Our ASJ(Dongguan) was full of fun and laughter on 7 and 8 May. 21 students and 3 teachers from our sister school in Hong Kong, Man Kiu Association Primary School, spent two days at our campus participating in student activities with our ASJ students.

5月7日至8日，东莞暨大港澳子弟学校充满了欢声笑语。来自香港姊妹校闽侨小学的21名学生和3名教师在我校校园度过了两天，与我校学生一起参与了各项学生活动。

On 7 May, students and teachers from Hong Kong spent nearly three hours from Man Kiu Association Primary School to ASJ(Dongguan) campus. After their arrivals, they were first arranged to have lunch at the school canteen. After that, it was a cross-cultural session in which students from Man Kiu Association Primary School and ASJ(Dongguan) completed the tasks collaboratively. They learnt Putonghua and Cantonese with each other. Following that, students had an arts lesson with Mr Ye, our Visual Arts teacher.

5月7日，来自香港的师生从闽侨小学出发，历时近三小时抵达东莞暨大港澳子弟学校校园。抵达后，他们首先被安排在学校食堂用午餐。随后是一场跨文化交流环节，闽侨小学与东莞暨大港澳子弟学校的学生们合作完成任务，互相学习普通话和粤语。接着，学生们在我校视觉艺术教师叶老师的指导下上了一堂艺术课。

For the last session held at the theatre, an interesting quiz time was conducted, with questions focusing on traditional customs and popular culture in the Greater Bay Area and Hong Kong. The event ended with a “Song Guessing Game”, in which students had to guess the names of the songs in Cantonese and Putonghua.

最后在剧院举行的环节中，进行了一场有趣的问答比赛，问题聚焦于大湾区及香港的传统习俗和流行文化。活动以“猜歌名游戏”结束，学生们需要用粤语和普通话猜出歌曲名称。

In order to allow students from Hong Kong to experience the local culture and traditional style of “Old Dongguan”, Ms. Grace AIK, the ASJ School Supervisor, and Mr. Samuel KAM, the Executive Principal of ASJ, took them to visit a historical site in Dongguan, Dongguan Sign, where visitors can observe the traditional architecture and streets of the old times. They were amazed by the local snacks and the style of the buildings. After their dinner, they were sent back to the dormitory for their rest.

为了让香港学生体验本地文化和“老东莞”的传统风貌，我校校监易丽华女士和执行校长金礼贤先生带领他们参观了东莞的一处历史地标——“东莞记忆”景点，在那里游客可以观赏到旧时的传统建筑和街道。他们对当地的小吃和建筑风格赞叹不已。晚餐后，他们被送回宿舍休息。

On Day 2, 8 May, students from Hong Kong participated in the Sports Festival of the primary div of ASJ(DG). They enjoyed themselves a lot in different items, like basketball, soccer, volleyball and frisbee. With their great effort and high involvement, the Hong Kong team achieved a medal and had an enjoyable time for the whole day. All in all, the Sports Festival has left a deep impression to most students who have never experienced any Sports Days outside Hong Kong.

第二天，5月8日，香港学生参加了东莞暨大港澳子弟学校小学部的体育节。他们在篮球、足球、排球和飞盘等不同项目中玩得非常开心。凭借他们的努力和高度投入，香港队获得了一枚奖牌，并度过了愉快的一天。总的来说，体育节给大多数从未在香港以外体验过运动会的学生留下了深刻印象。

Education is not only limited to learning in class, but also provides students with chances to explore and experience outside classroom. Communication between students from two borders can enhance the understanding of the cultures and broaden students’ horizons.

教育不仅限于课堂学习，还为学生提供了课堂外探索和体验的机会。两地学生之间的交流能够增进对彼此文化的理解，拓宽学生的视野。
