On May 25, Principal Ken Wong Kam-leung, BBS — a Deputy to the National People’s Congress, Member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong, and Chairman of the Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers — stepped into the auditorium of the ASJ Foshan. He delivered a special lecture titled “Focus on the Spirit of the Two Sessions, Strengthen Mission and Responsibility — Learning the Spirit of the 2026 National Two Sessions” to students from Form 3 to Form 5 and all teaching and administrative staff. The lecture guided Hong Kong and Macao students to understand national development, recognize opportunities in Hong Kong, and ignite youthful responsibility.

The event was presided over by Vice Principal Wong Yuk-ting. Opening with the question “What are the Two Sessions?”, she led the students to understand the basic nature of the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, explained the significance of the national “Two Sessions”, and introduced the lecture’s theme.
During the lecture, Principal Ken Wong Kam-leung delivered an in-depth interpretation centered on the spirit of the National Two Sessions and the key priorities of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030), aligned with national development goals and strategic tasks. He guided teachers and students to understand the direction of China’s modernization drive, while emphasizing the need to root development in Hong Kong’s realities—including consolidating and elevating its status as an international financial, shipping, and trade centre and a global aviation hub, supporting its development into an international innovation and technology centre, accelerating the development of the Northern MetropolisPlanning Department, and building a magnet for top international talent. In doing so, he opened broader horizons for Hong Kong and Macao youth to integrate into national development and contribute to the Greater Bay Area’s growth.
Addressing the Hong Kong and Macao students present, Principal Ken Wong Kam-leung encouraged them to leverage Hong Kong’s unique advantage of rooted in the motherland and connected to the world. He urged students to strengthen national identity, cultural recognition and sense of responsibility, and keep track of emerging sectors including artificial intelligence, aerospace technology, biomedicine and new materials, striving to grow into aspiring, capable and responsible young people of the new era.
He specially mentioned Li Jiaying, a female astronaut from Hong Kong aboard the recently launched Shenzhou-23 mission, who is the first Hong Kong resident to travel into space. "This achievement showcases China’s technological prowess and brings unprecedented opportunities for Hong Kong youth under the One Country, Two Systems framework," he remarked. He inspired students to dare to dream and act, capitalize on regional strengths and bay area opportunities, and evolve into patriotic young talents with global vision.

In his speech, Executive Principal Mr. Kevin Zhang commented that Principal Wong Kam-leung delivered an insightful and substantial sharing, offering valuable inspiration for Hong Kong and Macao students to understand national development and reflect on personal growth. Going forward, the school will align itself with the development goals of the 15th Five-Year Plan. It will foster young people’s devotion to the country and national confidence, continuously improve education frameworks, and create more exchange opportunities across the globe, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
