Creativity and Student Agency through the CISH Talent Show
Recently, CISH secondary students organized a Talent Show centered around one of the core learning experiences within the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP) — CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service).
A total of thirteen performances, presented by both students and staff, created an exciting and memorable three-hour showcase for the entire community. From singing and dancing to self-produced drama performances, the event highlighted not only the creativity and talent within our school, but also the organizational skills, collaboration, and strong sense of student agency that we continuously encourage at CISH.
What made this event especially meaningful was that it was fully planned and led by the student council. Beyond the performances themselves, the communication, teamwork, and dedication demonstrated behind the scenes reflected many of the qualities we strive to nurture in our IB learners. We are incredibly proud of our Maple Dragons for taking initiative and bringing this event to life.

At CISH, CAS plays an important role in the learning journey of our IB students. Through the strands of Creativity, Activity, and Service, students are encouraged to step beyond the classroom, explore their passions, and make meaningful contributions to their community.
As an IB continuum school, we place strong value on creating authentic opportunities for students to lead projects such as this Talent Show. Experiences like these allow students to further develop communication, collaboration, adaptability, leadership, and problem-solving skills through real-world experiences. While each performance may only last a few minutes on stage, the preparation, reflection, and growth behind the scenes create learning experiences that leave a lasting impact far beyond the classroom.
