海南省委书记冯飞调研AISL海口哈罗学校

端午前夕，6月18日，海南省委书记冯飞一行莅临AISL海口哈罗学校调研指导，实地了解国际教育发展情况，并与师生深入交流。海口哈罗学校总校长何欧立（Olly Wells）就办学成果及重点项目进展作专题汇报。

作为首家落户海南的全球知名教育品牌，海口哈罗学校自2020年创办以来，依托海南自贸港政策优势，坚持“中国标准、国际呈现”办学定位，构建“国际课程＋中文素养＋文化认同＋实践体验”四位一体课程体系，以“勇气、荣誉、谦和、互助”为核心育人价值观，致力打造具有全国影响力和全球竞争力的国际化学校。

学校常态化开设IGCSE、A-Level等主流国际课程，开发海洋文化、湿地保护等本土校本课程，全面落实院舍制与专属导师制，组建13支体育运动校队，开设帆船、STEM组装车、黎锦AI数字化等特色拓展课程。

开放为翼，打造高端高地——借助自贸港人才引进与教育开放政策，充分发挥英式寄宿制办学特色，加快国际市场招生布局，着力打造区域性国际教育目的地，为海南建设面向世界的教育开放新高地树立标杆。

Haikou, June 18 — On the eve of the Dragon Boat Festival, Mr. Feng Fei, Secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee, visited AISL Harrow Haikou to inspect the development of international education and exchange ideas with faculty and students. Mr. Olly Wells, Headmaster of AISL Harrow Haikou, delivered a detailed briefing on the school’s achievements and key strategic initiatives.

As the first globally renowned education brand to establish a presence in Hainan, AISL Harrow Haikou has, since its founding in 2020, leveraged the policy advantages of the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP). Adhering to its educational philosophy of “Chinese Standards, Global Perspectives” the school has established a four-pillar curriculum system integrating international academics, Chinese literacy, cultural identity, and experiential learning. Guided by the core values of “Courage, Honour, Humility, and Fellowship,” the school is committed to becoming an internationally competitive institution with national influence.

The school delivers mainstream international curricula including IGCSE and A-Level, while developing localised electives such as marine culture and wetland conservation. It fully implements the classic British House System and dedicated tutorial system, operates 13 competitive sports squads, and offers signature co-curricular programmes ranging from sailing and STEM Kit Car project to AI-driven Li brocade digitalisation. Over the years, the school has successfully hosted high-profile events including the COBIS Primary Games, AISL Harrow Games, the World Scholar’s Cup, and the NESSIC National Education Summit, with students consistently achieving top honours in academics, sports, and the arts.

Over the past six years, the school has built a comprehensive educational continuum spanning Early Years to Senior High. It is the only school in Hainan, and one of only four nationwide, to hold dual COBIS and WASC K–12 full accreditation. The Class of 2025 received interview invitations from the University of Cambridge and multiple offers from QS Top 100 universities, averaging approximately six offers per student. For the Class of 2026, 71% of students have already secured admission to QS Top 100 universities, including recipients of prestigious awards such as the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Full Scholarship.

During the visit, Secretary Feng Fei spoke highly of the school’s achievements. He emphasised the need to fully capitalise on the policy dividends of the Hainan Free Trade Port, deepen innovation in international education, and enhance both educational quality and brand influence, thereby contributing to Hainan’s ambition of building a high-level open island for international education.

Taking this visit as a new starting point, AISL Harrow Haikou will align closely with the FTP’s talent strategy and education opening-up agenda, focusing on three strategic dimensions:

• Quality First, Targeting Top-Tier      Destinations: Rigorously uphold COBIS      and WASC accreditation standards, optimise college counselling systems,      and strive for new breakthroughs in admissions to the world’s leading      universities.

• Events as a Catalyst, Expanding      Global Reach: Capitalise on      streamlined cross-border visa policies and flight connectivity to bid for      and host major international sports and cultural events, establishing      high-level platforms for exchange and elevating Hainan’s global profile in      education.

• Openness as a Driver, Building a      Premier Destination: Leverage FTP talent      attraction policies and the unique strengths of the British boarding model      to accelerate global enrolment expansion, positioning the school as a      regional hub for international education and a benchmark for Hainan’s      educational opening-up.
