As we reach the end of this school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the months we've spent together in this class.
In the beginning, it was tough, and it took a long time to get to know you all, but over time, I got to know your personalities and interests. I’ve learned that each of you has more inside you than you sometimes show. I have seen moments—maybe brief ones—when you lit up with curiosity, when you asked a thoughtful question, when you helped a classmate, or when you pushed yourself just a little bit harder. Those moments matter. They tell me what you are capable of.
This year, I have seen a classroom full of individuals with real potential. Some of you are naturally smart and can excel when you apply yourselves. Some of you are kind and bring warmth to this room even when you don't realize it. Some of you are resilient—you keep showing up even when things are difficult. And some of you have made real progress, even if it wasn't always visible on the surface.
Growth doesn't happen in perfect conditions. Growth happens when you are challenged, when you are pushed, and when you are asked to do more than you feel like doing. And in that sense, this year has been an opportunity—even if it didn't always feel like one.
As you move on to whatever comes next, I hope you take something from this year. I hope you remember that showing up to class matters. That effort matters, even when AI can complete an assignment in an instant. That the way you treat your teachers and your classmates matters. You are all capable of more than you think. The question is whether you will choose to show it. Congratulations on completing grade 10, and I look forward to all the wonderful things you’ll achieve in the coming years.
