This week in Grade 1, students strengthened their skills as effective communicators across various subjects. In Literacy, they explored possessive nouns and possessive pronouns, practising clear communication when indicating ownership. In Maths, students engaged in discussions about the seasons, identifying their characteristics and learning which months belong to each season. During Unit of Inquiry, students collaborated in groups to explore the Ocean habitat, refining their communication skills through teamwork. Additionally, students began working on their presentation skills, focusing on effectively presenting experiments using the scientific method.

This week, our Grade 2 students showcased their communication skills by presenting the experiments they completed during the holiday. They confidently shared their findings with the class, explaining each step of their scientific process. They focused on using the correct terminology while following the scientific method step by step. Through discussions and presentations, students practised being clear, precise, and effective communicators in science.

Grade 5 students studied the classic text "Borrowing Arrows with Straw Boats." They effectively developed a deeper understanding of the story's strategies and themes through detailed analysis and group discussions. The lesson highlighted Zhuge Liang's wisdom and resourcefulness, encouraging students to think critically about problem-solving and teamwork. They also explored historical context, enhancing their appreciation for classical literature.

Grade 6 and Grade 5 students continued debating "The Pros and Cons of the Internet" and experimented with static electricity by rubbing balloons and using memes to communicate their findings effectively. Grade 3 and Grade 4  studied "Transportation and Travel" and, through effective communication, started creating a simple version of "The History of Transportation Development."

Grade 2 students learned about "equal sharing" and the basics of division. Through hands-on activities and group collaboration, they effectively understood the concept of distributing items equally and began to grasp the names of the different parts of division. In class, students actively participated in practical activities such as sharing apples and candies, further solidifying their understanding of equal sharing. Through exercises and interactive games, they improved their calculation skills and developed teamwork and logical thinking. This effectively helped students build a preliminary understanding of division, laying a solid foundation for future learning.        


The tax rate and interest rate studied by sixth graders this week are important economic mathematics concepts that are widely used in real life and can effectively help students understand social and economic phenomena. After students learn tax rates, they can understand various tax scenarios in life, and students can understand the calculation method of deed tax. , understand the significance of paying taxes to national construction. After learning interest rate knowledge, students can effectively understand savings and loans, calculate the information they can obtain in the future based on different deposit interest rates, understand that reasonable savings can increase the value of money, and cultivate financial management awareness.

六年级学生学习的税率与利率是重要的经济数学概念,在实际生活中应用广泛,能够有效地帮助学生理解社会经济现象。学生在学习税率后,能理解生活中各种税收场景,学生能明白契税计算方式。,理解纳税对国家建设的意义。学习利率知识后,学生能有效地理解储蓄和贷款,能依据不同存款利率算出未来能获得的信息,明白合理储蓄可让钱增值,培养理财意识。

This week, Lower Primary played a ball-passing while Upper Primary progressed to using rackets in their rounders lesson. As students gained a greater understanding of the rules, students developed better communication skills with their team members on different strategies that can be used for success.
