It was perhaps more luck than fate that in the Summer of2017, I chanced upon UCIS,a boarding school in Shanghai.

 I chose here because I want a new adventure and stayed because the amazing teaching environment that UCIS offers. The staff and students are very friendly and teaching here has been the perfect start to my hopefully long teaching career.

I come from England. It has been over thirty years since I left my homeland.My school is in st.John's college.In truth, it was just your typical public school nestled in Surrey, the school is a relative 180 years old.

 The five years I spent boarding there were full of structure, and often harsh discipline, but looking back, they were some of the best years of my life.I got my taste for what would ultimately become my lifelong passion, Economics.

 I feel that this country offers an ample of instances from which I can learn and grow. In addition to people and learning opportunities,I will miss authentic Chinese food, traditional Chinese medicine, and magnificent nature.I am also very keen on sports, such as cricket, swimming and running.

译文：我觉得这个国家给了我很多学习和成长的机会。除了人和学习的机会，我也非常喜欢中国食物、中药和壮丽的大自然。同时我运动也非常热衷，板球、游泳和跑步等。

I think it’s very important to understand the needs of our students.one of the most valuable skills a teacher can have is connecting with students and understanding how each individual has their own learning style. Having a passion for teaching and always carrying one’s self with a positive attitude is critical.

译文：我认为能够理解学生的需求是非常重要的。与学生互动并了解每位学生如何拥有他/她自己的学习方式，是一位教师应具备的其中一项最宝贵的技能。对教学有热情，总是以积极的态度展现自己，这一点至关重要。
