当初为什么决定让孩子从新加坡转到国内就读？考虑了哪些因素最终放心孩子入读上海美达菲学校？

Why did you decide to transfer your child from Singapore to China? What factors have you considered to ensure your child's admission to Shanghai MacDuffie School?

高妈妈：当初让孩子从新加坡转到国内读是同时考虑到了地理距离，师资和学校的升学成绩。当我看到美达菲应届生的录取院校和IB平均分时，我才放心让孩子入读上海美达菲。

At the beginning, the geographical distance, teachers and the academic performance of the school were taken into consideration when the child was transferred from Singapore to China. When I saw the admission colleges and IB average scores of new students, I felt at ease to enroll my child in Shanghai MacDuffie .

对孩子的升学规划是什么时候开始，具体体现在哪些方面？您认为留学的优势到底是什么？

When does the child's education plan begin and in what aspects does it reflect? What do you think are the advantages of studying abroad?

高妈妈：我对孩子的升学规划在她上初中的时候就开始了，从众多国际课程中决然的选择IBDP。在我看来IBDP国际课程可以让孩子在申请方面更有竞争力，广泛的认可度和更深度的培养孩子学习的主动积极性。由此，IBDP国际课程与上海美达菲之理念“怀中国心，做世界人”所结合。上海美达菲有助于孩子在留学道路上做出正确的决定。最后，我认为留学的优势包括开拓眼界，增长见识，感受全新的文化理念以及建立孩子对未来就业的良好基石。

My plan for my child's study began when she was in junior high school, and she decisively chose IBDP from many international courses. In my opinion, IBDP international courses can make students more competitive in application, gain wide recognition and cultivate their learning initiative more deeply. Therefore, IBDP international courses are combined with the philosophy of Shanghai MacDuffie : "With a Chinese heart, be a global person". Shanghai MacDuffie helps children make the right decision on the path to study abroad. Finally, I think the advantages of studying abroad include broadening the horizon, broadening the knowledge, feeling the brand new cultural concepts and establishing a good foundation for children's future employment.

当初为什么会让孩子选择国际教育路线，您在择校时最看重的因素有哪些？上海美达菲是怎样满足您对孩子的教育追求的呢？

Why did you let your child choose the international education route in the first place? What factors do you value most when choosing a school? How does Shanghai MacDuffie meet your educational pursuits?

高妈妈：我择校时最看重的是升学背景，校园环境和师资力量。在全方位了解完上海美达菲之后，该校园愿景和教育目标十分契合我的教育追求和理念。

When I choose a school, the most important things are the background, campus environment and teachers. After a comprehensive understanding of Shanghai MacDuffie, the campus vision and educational goals are very much in line with my educational pursuit and philosophy.

孩子目前拿到伦敦大学学院、爱丁堡大学、香港大学、墨尔本大学、悉尼大学5所世界知名大学Offer，您认为美达菲的升学指导规划和个性化培养对孩子的学习和升学起到了哪些帮助？

My child has received offers from 5 world-renowned universities, including University College London, University of Edinburgh, University of Hong Kong, University of Melbourne and University of Sydney. How do you think the guidance planning and personalized training of MacDuffie has helped my child's study and further study?

高妈妈：美达菲在孩子升学上的帮助颇大，其中包括前期充分了解学生情况及目标，扬长避短并发挥出孩子与众不同的优点。并且在撰写文书的时期孩子在学校可以经常得到升学老师的反馈。我记得当时孩子英国的文书改了九稿才最终定稿。有时候升学老师还会为了学生们升学方面的事情加班、熬夜，这些家长们都是有目共睹的。

MacDuffie helps children to go to school. It includes understanding students' situation and goals, developing their strengths and avoiding their weaknesses, and giving full play to their unique advantages. In addition, during the writing period, children can often get feedback from teachers in school. I remember when the boy's English paperwork changed nine drafts before it was finally finalized. Sometimes the college teachers will work overtime and stay up late for the students' college entrance. These parents have seen that.

What is the feeling of being enrolled in Shanghai MacDuffie ? What do you think of the campus environment and international learning atmosphere?

高妈妈：入读美达菲最直观的感受是师资雄厚和校园环境十分优美。并且学校的国际化氛围帮助孩子更好的接轨和适应大学未来的生活。

The most intuitive feeling is the abundant faculty and the beautiful campus environment. Moreover, the international atmosphere of the school helps students better adapt to the future life in the university.

您认为孩子的分数和成长之间有怎样的关系呢？您是怎样通过学校去了解孩子的成长进程的呢？

What do you think is the relationship between children's grades and growth? How do you learn about a child's development process through school?

高妈妈：我认为孩子的分数和成长之间互有联系，当用分数来衡量孩子的成长时，孩子会少一些个性，取舍两难。分数作为孩子成长的必经之路，从中，孩子不会在人生道路上迷失自我。作为孩子的监护人我十分关注孩子的成长进程，身为孩子的班主任赵蓓老师，以及各个学科老师们对孩子悉心照料，对孩子的学习进程上起到至关重要的一步。

I think there is a correlation between children's scores and growth. When children's growth is measured by scores, children will have less personality. Scores are the only way for children to grow up, from which they will not lose themselves on the road of life. As the guardian of the child, I pay close attention to the growth process of the child. As the teacher in charge of the child, Ms. Zhao Bei and teachers of various subjects take good care of the child, which plays a crucial step in the learning process of the child.

您是如何理解“家校共育”这个概念的呢？您对美达菲的“家校关系”工作有何感受？有没有让您最有感触的体验？

How do you understand the concept of "home-school co-parenting"? How do you feel about MacDuffie 's work on "home-school relations"? What was your most emotional experience?

高妈妈：我认为“家校共育”是指，学校与家长共同努力，共同培育孩子。上海美达菲的“家校共育”体现在平时班主任赵老师会及时与我产生联系，及时的向我反馈孩子学习上的问题，并引导孩子及时纠正。包括校内经常召开的家长会，我认为这也非常重要，能及时了解孩子在校内的生活学习情况。

I think "home-school co-parenting" means that the school and parents work together to nurture the child. The "home-school co-education" of Shanghai MacDuffie is reflected in the fact that the head teacher, Ms. Zhao, will contact me in time, give me feedback on children's learning problems, and guide them to correct them in time. Including the regular parent-teacher meeting, which I think is also very important, can timely understand the children's life and learning in the school.

The biggest change of children in Shanghai MacDuffie is to be more determined in the future goal, become more hard in study and enhance the international vision to become a better international citizen.
