As we get ever closer to the official first day of the new academic year on Monday, it was wonderful to be able to open the campus today to welcome our new students and their families for an orientation morning.

At the Performing Arts Centre, our Heads of Secondary and Primary, Greg Siccardi and Richard Thompson, respectively, unveiled their plans and educational philosophies for the upcoming academic year. The event aimed to provide insight to both new and returning parents about the school's values and approach to nurturing students.

Mr Thompson and Mr Siccardi emphasised the school's commitment to fostering creativity, confidence, and consideration in their students. They outlined a holistic approach to education that extends beyond traditional academics, focusing on the development of well-rounded individuals prepared for the challenges of the modern world.

The event proved to be an engaging platform for parents to gain a deeper understanding of the school's mission and values. Many left feeling excited about the prospects of the new academic year and the positive impact it will have on their children's growth.

Parents and guardians were then treated to an engaging series of face-to-face sessions led by the school's teaching staff. These interactive sessions not only provided insights into the curriculum and educational methods but also allowed for an open exchange of ideas. "It's wonderful to see how invested the teachers are in our children's education," said one parent, beaming with enthusiasm. "Their passion is truly contagious."

A cornerstone of the day's events was the opportunity for students to familiarise themselves with their new homeroom teachers. The school believes that building a strong rapport between students and teachers is integral to a successful academic journey. "The connection between a student and their homeroom teacher can make a world of difference," shared Mr. Lang, a veteran educator at the school for 18 years. "Understanding each student's unique strengths and needs helps us tailor our approach for maximum growth."

As the morning developed, our families had the chance to meet with staff from all of our key administrative departments, while also engaging with our Parent & Community Association members over coffee and pastries. Families departed with a deeper understanding of the school's vision and a renewed sense of community. Induction Day has not only showcased the recent physical transformation of the campus but also reaffirmed the school's commitment to fostering holistic development in each student.

With the stage set for the academic year ahead, NAIS Pudong stands poised to embark on a journey of innovation, growth, and mutual collaboration, with students, parents, and educators working hand in hand.
