盛夏忽已暮,浅秋正渐浓。


随着莱克顿学子们的回归,正值新学期开学,师生齐聚皮尔蓬特剧院,我们迎来了一年一度创校日庆典。

Summer has suddenly come to an end, autumn is coming.


As Lucton students return and the new semester begins,

We gathered at the Pierrepont Theatre, we celebrate our annual Founder’s Day.

9月3日,创校纪念日当天,校长Clem Parrish做了简短的开篇后,由创始人兼理事施颖女士做开幕致辞,分享了未来三年的计划,贯彻践行“全人教育”的教学理念,鼓励学生们全面发展,以及办学目标,莱克顿的教育、课程与家校沟通的生态圈。


“莱克顿的办学目标不仅仅是让所有学生都能顺利进入他们理想的大学,更重要的是确保让学生们有一个平衡、全面、个性化的发展,帮助他们能更成功地应对自己日后的工作和生活。


学校非常执着于对每一位学生的关照,以家庭式的教育环境,致力于培养学生每一方面的特长,无论是课业学习,还是体育、音乐或其他兴趣爱好。”

On September 3, after a short introduction by Headmaster Clem Parrish, Ms.Helen Shi, the founder and governor of school, made an opening address, sharing the plan for the next three years, implementing the teaching concept of "holistic education", encouraging the all-round development of students, and the aim of school, Lucton's education, curriculum and communication ecosystem between family and school.


"The aim of Lucton is not only to enable all students to successfully enter the university of their choice, but more importantly to ensure that students have a balanced, holistic, and personalized development to help them cope with their future work and life more successfully." The school is very committed to taking care of each student, in a family environment, dedicated to the development of students in every aspect of excellence, whether it is academic, sports, music or other interests."

“脚踏实地做质量,仰望星空看未来!”

 

学术副校长涂老师发表演讲,提出了六大改善与提升目标。

 

1. 全方面梳理学生情况,为每位学生制定个性化教育教学规划。


2.转换学生评价机制,由终结性评价向过程性评价转变。


3. 根据每个学生具体情况,推出完善的辅导和补课机制。


4. 进一步加强教学常规质量监控。


5. 打造高质量教学团队,健全教师校内外培训机制。


6. 进一步提升教学管理团队效率。

Foot on the ground, eyes on the future.


Mr Eugene Tu,the Deputy Head Academic, delivered a speech and put forward six improvement and promotion goals.

 

1. Sort out students' situation in all aspects, and formulate personalized education and teaching plans for each student.


2. Change the student evaluation mechanism from the final evaluation to the process evaluation.


3. According to the specific situation of each student, we will introduce a sound mechanism for tutoring and making up lessons.


4. We will further strengthen supervision over the quality of teaching routine.


5. We will build a high-quality teaching team and improve the training mechanism for teachers inside and outside schools.


6. Further improve the efficiency of the teaching management team.

全人教育发展协调员 Ms Lucy Byrne认为,“上海莱克顿学校一直是一个让学生超越自己的极限,在新的努力中找到灵感的地方。我们的课程是围绕每个学生的个人需求设计的,帮助他们发现自己独特的才能,培养他们的激情。对于那些对创新事业有特殊兴趣的学生,我们欢迎你来到上海莱克顿创新艺术中心。”

Ms Lucy Byrne, Holistic Coordinator and DT Teacher, said: "Lucton School Shanghai has always been a place where students can push themselves beyond their boundaries and find inspiration in new endeavours. We feel it is important to nurture the variety of interests that our students have, and for those that have a special interest in creative ventures we have the Lucton Shanghai Innovation Arts Centre.

 

This is a key factor in the development of our school and is a new space where young minds can grow as artists, designers, innovators, and engineers.Those engaging with the creative pathway cultivated by the Lucton Shanghai Innovation Arts Centre can reap the benefit of their hard work through higher chances to be accepted into top level universities.

升学指导仇老师相信,个性化的升学规划与多元化留学目的地,是学校升学指导的重中之重,在演讲中,她为我们分享了2023届毕业学生与家长们的心声。他们取得了优异的成就,考入自己心仪的高校,QS排名也是名列前茅,每个人都对莱克顿的升学老师表达了感激之情。

Head of University Guidance & Pastoral Care, Ms Serena Qiu believes personalized university planning & diversified destinations is the key to university guidance. In her speech, she shared the voices of the Class of 2023 and their parents. They achieved outstanding achievements, were admitted to their favorite universities, QS rankings are also top, and everyone expressed one’s gratitude to Lucton's teachers.

 

With the integration of family and school, parents can also help their children to reach higher, by sharing cutting-edge industry insight and career development and taking students aiming for related majors on a field trip.

时间来到下午,学生、家长与老师们齐聚室内体育场,现在是自由交流的环节。


正值新的学期,各个学科的老师为学生与家长都进行了答疑与一对一的交流。让新学生们对老师有了一个初步的认知,也让学生们对新老师们留下了初印象。


高谈阔论,欢声笑语,孩子们之间的生疏之情与间隙早已融于谈笑之中。


开朗,热情,尊师重道,莱克顿学子们在互相交流之中学习,培养了彼此的感情,同时帮助新生消除紧张和害羞,放松心情,更好地适应新环境。

In the afternoon, students, parents and teachers gathered in the indoor stadium for free communication. While it is the new semester, and teachers from all disciplines have conducted questions and one-to-one exchanges for students and parents. Let the new students have a preliminary understanding of the teacher, but also let the students have a first impression of the new teacher.


Talking and laughing,the unfamiliar feelings and gaps between the children have already melted. Cheerful, enthusiastic and respectful, Lucton students learn from each other and cultivate their feelings with each other. At the same time, they help freshmen eliminate their nervousness and shyness, relax and adapt to the new environment better.

Now with laughter in our campus, stronger connection between teachers and students, family and schools, everyone is excited about the new semester. It is the beginning of the new semester and also about all of Luctonians moving forward together, striving for a future worth looking forward to.
