Field Trip
近期，三林和雪野校区的学生们跟着人文组的老师一起完成了两次户外教学，以加深他们对历史和地理学科的理解。
首先，地理学科组的学生们去了上海城市规划展示馆。在那里，学生们把上海作为城市发展和未来规划的案例，进行个案分析。

从上海的时代发展史出发，再一步步走入上海的自然地理现状，最后穿越到2035年计划中的上海。观展的一路，我们看到的是过去、现在和环境得到改善和解决部分城市问题的未来上海。
学生们尤其喜欢上海的模型及其新发展，以及上海自然保护区中关于污染、风能和生物多样性的互动展览区域。在IGCSE和A Level的校内课堂上，他们已经学习了污染、可再生能源和城市发展，而这些主题的学习，都通过“上海”这个案例，具象化了。
在第二次户外教学活动，历史学科组的学生们去了上海犹太难民纪念馆。这个纪念馆记录了二战前逃离欧洲来到上海的犹太难民的历史。这是一个很好的机会，让学生了解了关于犹太人所面临的迫害的第一手资讯。
学生们跟着导览员参观了纪念馆，阅读了难民逃离的原因及他们在上海的生活状况。学生们乐于了解这些难民在经济和文化上对上海的贡献。
这次户外学习与学生们深度学习IGCSE阶段的德国历史及A Level阶段关于纳粹对于犹太人的大屠杀的历史密切相关。同时，也给了学生们一个了解上海在大屠杀期间帮助难民所扮演的角色的机会。
虽然我们学习的是英式国际课程，但在中国、在上海，我们看到的是这整体内容中的部分，这一视角能够帮助我们去理解国际课程中的内容。当学生们学习的内容与他们的生活相关的时候，他们的理解也会更为深刻。

Field Trip
Students from both Sanlin & Xueye campuses recently went on two trips with the Humanities department to deepen their understanding of History and Geography.
First, Geography students went to the Shanghai Urban Planning Center, which allowed students to study Shanghai as a case study of urban development and future planning.

Students began by learning the history of Shanghai’s development over time, then progressed onto the physical Geography of Shanghai, before finally looking at Shanghai’s plans by 2035 to develop environmentally and address urban problems faced in Shanghai.
Students particularly enjoyed the models of Shanghai and its new developments as well as the interactive exhibits on pollution, wind energy, and the biodiversity found in the natural reserves in Shanghai. These topics were relevant to the students' studies in IGCSE and A-level as we learn about pollution, renewable energy and urban development in the classroom.
For the second trip, history students went to the Shanghai Jewish Refugee Museum, and this museum records the history of Jewish refugees that fled Europe before WW2 and came to Shanghai. This was an excellent opportunity for students to understand first-hand accounts of the persecution faced by the Jews.
Students went around the museum and conducted a guided tour, reading up on the causes for the refugees to flee and the life they had in Shanghai. Students enjoyed learning about the contribution many of these refugees made to Shanghai economically and culturally.
This trip directly ties into students' study of the German depth study for their IGCSE and A-Level students depth study of the Holocaust, making this trip very relevant to their studies and provided an opportunity to understand the role Shanghai played in helping refugees during the Holocaust.
Although we study an International British Curriculum, we can understand the content through the lens of Shanghai and China as a whole to make the content relevant to the students' lives and deepen their understanding.
