上周四，协和浦东三林校区迎来了一群特殊的客人——7位盲障人士和他们的5只导盲犬。没有刻板的科普说教，取而代之的是笑声、音乐和一段段温暖的故事。这场活动，让我们看到了生命的另一种可能：即使眼前没有光，心中依然能住进太阳。

Last Thursday, SUIS Pudong Sanlin Campus hosted a group of seven visually impaired individuals and their five guide dogs. The event was a departure from traditional lectures, instead focusing on laughter, music, and heartwarming stories. It showcased a different perspective on life, demonstrating that even in the absence of physical light, the warmth of the sun can still shine in one's heart.

"我叫黄不易，因为喜欢毛不易！"

一位盲障音乐人（黄嘉言）抱着吉他登场，弹唱间穿插着幽默，他的歌声清澈有力，指尖在琴弦上跳跃的模样，让人忘记“视觉”的界限——原来乐观真的可以穿透黑暗，直抵人心。

One of the visually impaired guests, a musician named Huang Jiayan, brought humour to the stage with his guitar performance. His vibrant voice and skilled playing transcended the limitations of sight, illustrating how optimism can break through darkness and resonate with audiences.

Braille: The "text revolution" at your fingertips

盲文：指尖上的“文字革命”

从小学习盲文的盛媛贞女士向大家展示盲文书写工具：像小锥子一样的盲文笔、带着凹槽的盲文板。同学们轮流尝试“扎”出凹凸的拼音，惊呼：“原来每个字都要反着写！（盲文从背面穿刺，正面触摸）”——这堂跨越感官的语文课，让“阅读”二字有了更深的重量。

Ms Sheng who learned Braille from a young age demonstrated Braille writing tools to every one: a Braille pen resembling a small cone and a Braille board with grooves. Students took turns trying to 'poke' out the raised and indented Pinyin characters, exclaiming, 'So each word needs to be written in reverse!' (Braille is read by puncturing from the back and touching from the front) This cross-sensory Chinese class gave the word 'reading' a deeper weight."

"Braille was originally invented by a Briton, using combinations of raised dots representing the 26 letters of the alphabet. It later spread to China, where it became our 'eyes' through the use of Pinyin. "

Guide Dogs: More than tools, they are companions.

导盲犬：不是工具，是战友

导盲犬并不是单纯的工具，而是视障人士生活中值得珍视的战友。王群琴女士分享了她通过导盲犬的帮助重获希望和目标的转变经历，强调了对这些经过特殊训练的动物的理解和接纳的重要性。

The guide dogs were not portrayed as mere tools but as valued companions in the lives of the visually impaired individuals. Ms Wang shared her transformative experience of regaining hope and purpose through her guide dog's assistance, emphasising the importance of understanding and acceptance for these specially trained animals.

“失明第一天，我觉得人生完了；遇见我的导盲犬后，我才知道生活还能重启，我很庆幸他能陪伴我，但是目前还有很多人不了解导盲犬这个群体。”

"On the first day of blindness, I felt like life was over; it was only after meeting my guide dog that I realised life could restart. I am very grateful that he can accompany me, but unfortunately, there are still many people who do not fully comprehend the importance of guide dogs in our lives."

盲行体验：导盲犬的守护与陪伴

活动最有爱的环节，是同学们戴上眼罩，由导盲犬牵引行走。短短几步，有人紧张到同手同脚，有人差点撞墙。“原来盲人出门真的像闯关！”而导盲犬全程稳定，甚至会在台阶前“刹车”提醒。

A poignant moment occurred when students were blindfolded and guided by the dogs, gaining a brief insight into the challenges faced by the visually impaired. Through this exercise, students expressed newfound empathy and appreciation for the daily obstacles overcome by individuals living with visual impairments.

A: 2年！淘汰率70%，比考985还难。

Q: How long does it take to train a guide dog?

A: Two years! The dropout rate is 70%, which is even more challenging than getting into a top-tier university (985).

Q：它们会闹脾气吗？
A：当然！不想干活时就假装没听见，和你躲作业一个样~

Q：Do they ever throw tantrums?

A: Of course! When they don't feel like working, they just pretend not to hear you, just like how you dodge your homework!

黑暗中的光，往往更亮。

这场活动没有悲情，只有真实的力量：

盲障人士的幽默，消解了刻板印象；

导盲犬的专业，证明了“它们不是宠物，是尊严的翅膀”；

而同学们的参与，让“共情”取代了“同情”。

The event concluded with a message of resilience and empowerment, dispelling stereotypes and fostering a deeper understanding of the capabilities of both the visually impaired and their guide dogs.
