Over the past few weeks, our students have shone in two exciting FOBISIA maths events that tested their problem solving, teamwork and creativity.
On Thursday 6 November, our Year 7 to 9 students took part in the online FOBISIA Hardy Ramanujan Maths Competition, proudly hosted by the British School of Colombo. The following day, our Year 10 to 13 competitors joined the challenge. Across both days, students applied logical reasoning and tackled a range of individual and team based tasks. One of the standout moments was taking part via Zoom, which allowed them to connect with students from schools around the world. A huge well done to everyone who represented NAIS Pudong with such enthusiasm.
From 22 to 26 September, more than 60 of our students participated in the FOBISIA Code Breaking Challenge, hosted by the British International School of Phuket. Working through six rounds of code breaking and an exciting bonus Python round, students demonstrated great perseverance and collaboration. Those who completed Level 2A and above received certificates for their achievements.
We are especially proud of our top code breakers:
Level 2A
Year 7: Happy
Year 8: Violette, Jaden, Lisa
Year 9: Boxun, Alva, Sarah, Mia, Gianna
Level 2B

Well done to all students who took part. These competitions were a wonderful opportunity to challenge themselves, develop new skills and celebrate the joy of mathematical thinking.
