In the name of love, let's go for it together!

A heartwarming practical lesson on

"Animals and Humans"

When furry little lives enter our daily routine, they are not just companions but also a potent cure. To explore "how animals help humans", we embarked on a special journey that combines practice, insight and warmth - from the immersive experience of the "Working Cat Club" to the heartwarming therapy at the nursing home, each leg of the journey deepened our understanding of the profound bond between "humans and animals".

 Part 01

The Working Cat Club: Understanding Responsibility in the Mundane

On November 11th, we stepped into the "Working Cat Club" to embark on our first "immersive cat caretaker" experience. Students worked in different divs, sweeping the floor, mopping, cleaning the windows, organizing the bar counter, and tidying up the cat area... Some were dedicated "cat caretakers", changing water and shooing away flies, while the photography team captured the striking contrast before and after the cleaning.

What seems like a simple job actually conceals the difficulties behind keeping a pet. We truly understand that even though cats are less troublesome than dogs, feeding, cleaning, and health care are all indispensable, and responsibility is never absent. Teacher Wu Qi also reminds us: "Before keeping a pet, be sure to prepare a heart to take care of it. And for those engaged in animal therapy, it is even more necessary to recognize the sacrifices behind it - accompanying for medical treatment, continuous time and financial investment, and even the impact on personal life. These are all the unknown parts behind the glamorous appearance."

This practice made us understand that love for animals begins with fondness and ends with responsibility.

 Part 02

Listening to the Original Intention:

The Warm Persistence of the "Head of China's Paw For Heal Therapy Dog and Cat Public Welfare Project"

After the practice, we listened to the sharing of Wu Qi, the founder of the Chinese Paw For Heal (PFH) animal therapy project. Founded by Wu Qi in 2012, the PFH project is dedicated to training small animals professionally to empower their social value and promote human physical and mental health through animal therapy. The project has covered more than ten cities across the country and served over 150,000 people. In August 2025, it was recognized by the United Nations UNIHEAL and became a "Cooperative Center for the United Nations Sustainable Development International Healer Training Project".

From dog sports competitions, leading Chinese athletes to the world stage, to participating in the production of films such as "A Dog's Journey" and winning awards, Wu Qi's experiences can be described as legendary. But what truly touches us is his original intention of shifting from "competition" to "healing". By chance, he discovered that his dog could open the hearts of children with autism, and thus he resolutely devoted himself to public welfare, transforming his training techniques into healing power.

After ten years of dedication, he and his team have evolved from seeking attention to being invited to the Water Cube, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, and numerous primary and secondary schools as well as universities. They have even received attention from central leaders and coverage in People's Daily. He shared the changes in children with autism, the warm companionship in end-of-life care, and also talked about cross-border collaborations with McKinsey and the Shanghai Museum. Animal-assisted therapy is not only about healing but also serves as a warm bond connecting education, healthcare, and public welfare.

 Part 03

Warm and Furry Healing Visit at

the Elderly Care Home:

Touching Hearts Deeply

Swipe left and right to view more……

In the afternoon, we entered the elderly care home in Gucun Town, Baoshan District, and met the "Healing Team" of the "Cure Paws" public welfare organization: the healing dogs Wuma, Zhuaizhuai, and Nali, the healing cats Fubao, Haha, and Xiongdahao, and the first healing guinea pig in China - Yale. Under the guidance of Teacher Wu Qi's team, we learned interaction skills and had one-on-one exchanges with the elderly.

Starting from chatting about the joys of pet-keeping, to watching the furry friends approach them on their own initiative, the elderly people's eyes gradually changed from being strange and tense to gentle and relaxed. They gently stroked the dogs' backs, the cats' soft fur, and held the guinea pigs with great affection, with long-lost smiles blooming on their faces. At the end, the students presented them with sunflowers and blessing cards they had made by hand, and a group photo captured this warm encounter that transcended generations and species.

Back in the meeting room, we also had close interactions with the therapy animals - a dog placed its front paws on our shoulders, asking for a photo, and the scene was filled with continuous laughter, with joy spilling out of the screen.

This event made us deeply realize that what animals offer to humans is not only the warmth of companionship, but also the power of healing and the enlightenment of responsibility. From the trivialities of taking care of pets to the mutual healing journey, the bond between humans and animals conceals the purest love and protection. In the future, we are willing to continue to spread this warmth and explore more possibilities for harmonious coexistence between humans and animals.
