Alumni Homecoming Day:
A Warm Gathering for Growth
The cold wind brings warmth, and the year turns anew. The alumni reunion day of our school was tenderly launched. Former students returned from all corners of the country, gathering with teachers, current students, and parents to share their youth and discuss the future.
Event Review:
Reunion Chitchat, Sharing Growth Moments Together
The event was kicked off by a representative from the school, who extended a warm welcome to the alumni: "Our alma mater is the cradle of our growth and an eternal spiritual home." These few words expressed the original intention of this gathering - to relive the memories of youth and build a bridge between alumni and the school.
Then Principal Chen took the stage to deliver a speech, affectionately referring to the alumni's return as "coming home". He said, "The school will always keep its doors open and welcome you to come back and visit often."He encouraged the alumni to maintain their friendship from school days and hoped that they would set an example for their younger peers with their own experiences and pass on the power of striving.
Under the guidance of the college counseling teacher, the alumni took turns to share their recent situations. From the 2023 graduates entering the workplace or pursuing further studies at prestigious overseas universities, to the earlier graduates who have been deeply engaged in domestic universities or started new careers in places like Shanghai, and even the students currently taking a gap year to explore their directions - different paths, all shining with the light of growth.
The Q&A session brought the atmosphere to a climax. Parents and students actively raised questions, and alumni sincerely shared their experiences:
- Adapting to university life and interpersonal communication: Alumni suggested that actively joining clubs, being brave to communicate across different circles, and establishing clear boundaries with roommates are key to integrating into university life.
- The experience of liberal arts colleges: Many alumni who studied in liberal arts colleges analyzed their "small but exquisite" characteristics - close teacher-student relationships and focus on individual growth, which are suitable for students who wish to deeply explore themselves. They also reminded that resources and popularity might be less than those of comprehensive universities, and choices should be made in line with long-term plans.
- Professional selection and the AI era: Many alumni admitted that their professional directions became clear gradually during university. Facing the AI wave, they believed that critical thinking, creativity, and emotional connection are increasingly important, while AI is more of a tool to enhance efficiency. Education also needs to keep pace with the times and cultivate talents who can adapt to future changes.
- The "naughty" side during growth and guidance: Some alumni humorously talked about their "mischievous" experiences in their youth, expressing gratitude for the inclusive and diverse environment of their alma mater, which allowed them to recognize themselves through trial and error. The patience of teachers and guidance from families helped them transform their vitality into responsibility and direction.
At the end of the event, everyone freely exchanged ideas and continued the unfinished conversations. Amidst the aroma of tea and laughter, warmth and enlightenment quietly flowed.
This is not only a reunion of youth, but also a mutual pursuit of gratitude and inheritance.
For alumni, returning is a deep sentiment of "not forgetting the way we came". The stories and experiences they bring are the best gifts to their alma mater and also strengthen the emotional bonds among them.
For current students, this is a vivid "preparatory course for the future". The real growth paths and sincere advice from senior students are like beacons, illuminating their choices for further education and life planning ahead, making the contours of their dreams clearer.
Education is a gentle relay. The school is willing to continuously build such a platform, allowing the strength of alumni to converge into a river, enabling every piece of experience to be passed on, and ensuring that every youth is not alone.
Come home often and visit. Your alma mater will always be your solid rear guard.
May we meet again at a higher place next time.
