What can Year 5 students teach us about Shakespeare? 五年级的孩子们可以教会我们关于莎士比亚的什么呢？

Year 5 students at Nord Anglia International School Shanghai Pudong led an exciting and informative assembly all about William Shakespeare. They shared fascinating facts about his life, including where he was born, the Globe Theatre, and the lasting impact his plays continue to have on literature and theatre around the world.

The children confidently performed famous scenes from Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, Hamlet and many more, using expressive voices, dramatic actions and excellent teamwork to bring the characters to life.

Students then impressed the audience with their original play, The Throne of Light, inspired by Shakespearean themes of kings, queens, witches, loyalty and betrayal. The performance featured dramatic kings, mysterious shadows, emotional speeches and moments of humour, all written and performed by the children themselves.

Their confidence, creativity and dedication were evident throughout the assembly, making it an enjoyable and memorable experience!
