This has been a busy term for the Psychology students. Year 12's have been getting to grips with cognitive development, and learning how infant’s minds develop into the social and academic students that they are today. They have also completed the Biopsychology component which was heavily content based. I'm really proud of the effort and dedication they have put into their studies.

Psychology is a scientific subject and demands research that can be replicated for further testing and be used to help us become better humans by understanding how our minds work, why we behave as we do, how we can improve our mental abilities, our memory and so on. After delving into the research aspects of psychology the year 11 have been studying the last topic in this course - Sleep and dreaming. Students learnt about the different things that can affect our quality of sleep and how to interpret dreams.

The year 10's are busy exploring psychological disorders, namely depression, learning about the symptoms, causes and ways to treat it. They are also leaning key writing and analytical skills which they will continue to improve on as they progress through their school career.

The year 13's are busy completing their last unit, Applied psychology which deals with the individual in society and the effect we as individuals and as groups have on each other, as well as workplace stress and all of its effects and job motivation, all important concepts for them to incorporate as they move forward onto University and ultimately into the world of work.
