莱克顿CCA | 以兴趣为源点,推墨作画,绘学巧思

从学生的兴趣出发,以此为源,由点到面,推墨作画,挖掘潜在能力。

CCA(拓展课程)是莱克顿课程设置中的重要组成部分。新学期伊始,莱克顿的老师们纷纷推出自己的CCA。经过一周的考虑,同学们都选择了自己心仪的CCA,并从本周起进行了本学期第一次的课程开展,让我们来一探究竟。

Starting from each Luctonian's interests, CCA (Co-Curriculum Activity), an essential part of the Lucton curriculum, taps into individual potential.

At the beginning of the new term, teachers have already launched their own CCA expansion courses. After a week of consideration, students have chosen their preferred CCA and have conducted their first lesson this week.

世界多文化研究

莱克顿的学子身处多文化汇集的学习环境中,Godwin Okochi老师期望通过自己的经历教孩子们认知更多,探索我们感兴趣的文化,培养世界公民意识,了解世界多文化的基础形态,探索特定文化群体的语言、媒体、食物和其他方面。

Luctonians live in a multicultural learning environment. Mr Godwin Okochi looks forward to teaching students through his own experience, exploring the cultures that interest us, and cultivating a sense of global citizenship. Students understand the foundation of multiculturalism and explore the language, media, food and other aspects of distinctive cultural groups.

Destinee老师作为数学老师,时常被学生提问一些专业名词解释,有些是时下流行词汇,比如“元宇宙”。世界瞬息万变,每天的信息更新快到可能刚明白这个词汇具体指什么就已经成为过去式。他想通过自己的多文化研究更新让学生最快最准确去理解世界在发生什么。

两位老师一位向学生展示“过去既成”的世界,一位向学生刷新“未来发展中”的世界,我们在过去,在现在,也在未来,身处中国校园,纵览世界资讯。

As a Maths teacher, Mr Destinee Tian is bombarded with inquiries to explain technical terms, such as metaverse. The world is changing rapidly, and information is updated daily so quickly. By presenting his multicultural research to students, Mr Destinee Tian wants to demonstrate to students about the ever-changing world. Mr Godwin Okochi ascertains the students the past is now, whereas Mr Destinee Tian updates students on the world as it will be in the future. Students can catch a glimpse of the world through our campus in China.

粤语

粤语CCA中,Kyra老师用了如今社交媒体最流行的几句粤语进行开场“母鸡”“猴塞雷”,这些耳熟能详的广东方言用形象的图画来减低学生的学习难度,连续的发音加之动漫形象环环相扣,能让学生短时间内完成多个短语的学习。仅仅几分钟,展现了后续课程中即将呈现的趣味时刻,在场的学生也是踊跃发言,提供自己所知悉的粤语知识,欢笑不断。

In the Cantonese CCA, Ms Kyra Wu starts with some of the most popular Cantonese phrases on social media today, 'Mu Ji' and 'Hou Sai Lei'. These familiar Cantonese dialects are illustrated with images to make learning less challenging. Continuous pronunciation and cartoon images allow students to learn multiple phrases in a short time. In just a few minutes, the students in the audience speak up and offer their knowledge of the Cantonese language with laughter.

丝网印刷、DIY设计

印刷制品在生活中随处可见,学生接触最多便是黑白的纸质试卷,认为无非就是黑色油墨压制在白色纸张,印刷如此简单。那其他生活和艺术印刷品又是如何制作而成?丝网印刷制作过程又是如何进行?

当我们遇到生活中的日常难题和个性需求,又在市场上无法购买到解决的物品,那么我们就要从0到1动手解决DIY-Do It Yourself。

Jonathan Beardsley老师和Lucy Clarke老师从实际的问题出发,授予学生基于解决问题的学习方式,将那些“纸上谈兵”化为现实

Printed products are found everywhere in life. A blatant example of printed materials is the black and white paper exam papers. Students may think that printing is as simple as black ink pressed onto white paper. What about other lifestyle and art prints? How does the screen-printing process work?

When we encounter an everyday problem where we cannot simply buy the item off the market, we have to DIY from scratch.

Mr Jonathan Beardsley and Ms Lucy Clarke take a practical approach to problem-based learning and turn those thinking into reality.

学生们自主动手的教学互动中,将创意汇聚,用所学课本知识实现运用,提升艺术审美和设计技能,由此发生的激烈探讨是老师赋予学生的自由,积极主动参与,共同的目标都是为了更好完成任务。个人思考、逻辑思维、动手能力、反复试错、反思改进与分析都是日后生活和工作中极其重要的才能,课程学习中,潜移默化地学生将逐步举一反三应用到未来学习,完成任务后的成就感与获得的便利让人身心愉悦。

Independent hands-on teaching interaction brings together ideas, realising them with the knowledge they have learnt from their textbooks, enhancing their artistic aesthetics and design skills.

Any intense discussions that arose are evidence of active participation. Personal thinking, logical thinking, hands-on skills, trial and error, reflective improvement and analysis are crucial skills for the rest of their lives. Students will slowly apply them to the future, and the sense of achievement gained from completing the task is physically and emotionally pleasing.

恐惧症克服

令人印象深刻的是Jann Du Venage老师带来的心理“恐惧症克服”课程,随着大家对精神类疾病的逐步认知,耳闻过各种恐惧症的类型:恐高症、恐水症、幽闭恐惧症等等,可除了一些正常的情感恐惧,10个人中有3人还患有不被意识到的心理恐惧症。

最近谈论较多的便是“社交恐惧症”,这个新型词汇在中国相当火热,而其中还分为“演讲恐惧”“外国人恐惧”“交流恐惧”“潮人恐惧”,种类形式多种,日常生活中哪怕你对其中一项产生恐惧便需要克服或者避免,不加重视会加深病情,甚至需要专业医师治疗。

The overcoming phobias course brought by Ms Jann Du Venage is the most impressive of them all. Students have already heard about various types of phobias, such as acrophobia, hydrophobia, and claustrophobia. Apart from some common emotional fears, three out of ten people also suffer from psychological phobias without their awareness.

Recently there has been a lot of talk about "social phobia", a new term that has become quite popular in China. There are many distinct kinds and forms, including the fear of speaking, communication, and even foreigners. You need to overcome it if you have any one of them in your daily life. The phobia will deepen if you don't pay serious attention.



乐教乐学,是师生间独有的神奇氛围墙。

所有老师都选择了自己的专业或感兴趣的领域,这让学生们可以从这段相对轻松的时间中获得更多。

学术类CCA以学术科目的深入学习为主,学生可以借此机会继续学习数学、商业、雅思英语等学科,人文类CCA力求丰富学生综合知识面,课程有世界多文化研究、中英式茶品茗鉴赏、粤语、心理学探索、生物探索等课程,与此同时,我们也有更多的技能性CCA使学生全身心投入专项技能训练,比如足球、丝网印刷、DIY设计和化学好奇俱乐部等。

老师投入教授,学生投入听讲,双方都乐在其中,无人可插入打破的奇妙氛围形成独有的“墙”,这是教与育的最好状态。

Teaching and learning with pleasure is a unique magical bond between teachers and students.

All teachers have determined their CCA choices based on their specialisms, allowing students to get more out of this relatively relaxed time.

The Academic CCA focuses on an in-depth study of academic subjects, with students taking the opportunity to further their studies in Mathematics, Business and IELTS English . The Humanistic CCA strives to enrich students' comprehensive knowledge. World multicultural studies in Chinese and British tea appreciation, Cantonese,Psychology,Biology and other courses are open to students. At the same time, we also have more skill-based CCAs that allow students to devote themselves to specialised skills such as football, screen printing, DIY design and Chemistry Curiosity Club.

All of these is where teachers and students enjoy themselves and create a unique bond that no one can break.
