青春正当时，沙场秋点兵。8月14日，上海美达菲双语学校普高部2023级高一新生带着昂扬的斗志和饱满的热情踏入高中校园，开启了为期5天的军训生活。

It is the prime time to take a military training in one’s youth. On August 14, the freshmen of Grade 2023 of Shanghai MacDuffie Bilingual School entered the high school campus with high morale and full enthusiasm, starting a five-day military training.

8月18日，上海美达菲双语学校普高部2023级新生军训闭营仪式隆重举行，经历一周的锤炼，同学们以昂扬之姿接受检阅。在这一刻，内心涌动着骄傲，将汗水化作嘹亮的歌声，响彻练兵场。

On August 18, the closing ceremony of 2023 freshmen military training of Shanghai MacDuffie Bilingual School was held. After one-week training, the students accepted the examination with high spirit. At this moment, their hearts are surging with pride, their sweats turned into a resonant song, ringing through the drill ground.

在一周的军事夏令营中，同学们经受住了烈日的考验，突破了身体的极限，战胜了各种各样的困难，展现出了最好的自己。

During the one-week military summer camp, the students withstood the test of the scorching sun, broke through the limits of the body, overcame all kinds of difficulties, and showed the best of themselves.

闭营仪式上现场为学生颁发奖项，以此鼓励和表彰同学们在军训中表现出来的坚韧不拔的毅力和团结协作的精神。在掌声和祝福中，我们见证了每一位获奖者眼中闪烁的光芒。

At the closing ceremony, awards were presented to students to encourage and commend the students' perseverance and the spirit of unity and cooperation shown in the military training. In the applause and blessings, we witnessed the glint in the eyes of each winner.

如果青春是首动人的歌曲，那军训就是其中最铿锵的旋律。王东焕校长代表学校感谢全体教官和老师的辛勤付出，肯定了同学们为了自己的理想，以顽强的毅力战胜了高温酷暑，经受住了严格训练的考验，克服种种困难，取得了军训的圆满成功。

If youth is a touching song, the military training is one of the most sonorous melody. On behalf of the school, President Wang Donghuan appreciated the hard work from all the instructors and teachers , and affirmed the complete success that the students had achieved by overcoming high temperature and scorching heat with their tenacious perseverance, withstanding the test of strict training and overcoming various difficulties.

他希望大家把军训中养成的勇敢坚毅的品质、严明的纪律意识、规范的言行、快速反应的能力和团结协作的集体主义精神融入到血液中，在美达菲这个广阔的天地里，不断提升自己，坚定理想信念，好好学习，长大报效伟大的祖国！

He hopes that the students can integrate the couraguous and tenacious qualities, strong awareness of discipline, normative behavior, rapid responding ability, collectism of cooperation and unity which are cultivated in the military training, into their blood and improve themselves constantly, firm their believes, study hard and serve the great motherland when they grow up.

灼灼青春，当铸钢铁意志；巍巍军风，方显学子本色。在这一周的时间里，同学们一起晒过夏末、初秋的烈日，在汗水中学会坚持与顽强；一起为班级荣誉奋斗拼搏，在操练中学会团结与拼搏。一次次稍息立正，一次次跨立敬礼，这些同奋斗、共拼搏的日子都将成为青春年少时光里最美好的回忆。

Strong will should be built in one’s youth; The imposing military training can demonstrate the spirits of the students. During this one week, the students sunbathed in the sun of late summer and early autumn. They learned persistence and tenacity from their sweats; They strived for class honor together; They learned unity and hard work from the exercise. Standing at attention again and again, standing across and saluting again, these days of struggling and fighting together will become the best memories of the youth.

在这一周的时间里，通过内务整理训练让学生们生活自理能力大幅度提升，方方正正的被子是你们努力的象征，良好的内务评比分数是你们努力的结果，希望在未来，你们能将军训的炎热与拼搏记在脑海，面向朝暮，心怀信仰。

During this week, through the housekeeping training, the students' self-care ability has been greatly improved. The square quilt is a symbol of your efforts, and the good results of housekeeping examination is the result of your efforts. I hope that in the future, you will always bear in mind the heat and struggle of the military training and have faith in your heart every day and night.

值得一提的是，在军训入营之初，每个家庭的父母都给孩子写了一封家书，述说对孩子未来高中三年学习生活的鼓励与期许。

It is worth mentioning that at the beginning of the military training camp, the parents of each family wrote a letter to their children, describing their encouragement and expectations for the next three years of high school study and life.

在军训结束前每位学生都给父母写了回信，汇报自己军训情况、对自己高中生活的憧憬以及如何与父母沟通讲述了自己的想法，此次互通家书的活动也为每个美达菲学子家庭的亲子关系打下良好基础。

Before the end of the military training, each student wrote a reply to their parents, reporting their military training, their vision of high school life and how to communicate with their parents about their ideas. The activity of sharing letters also laid a good foundation for the parent-child relationship of each student's family.
