Another week of online school completed today. We understand how difficult this is for parents to ensure older students take part in every class and to help with the technology for younger students. It has been so interesting to see young students learn practical new English phrases such as ‘Please unmute yourself’ and how quickly they understand the meaning and act on the instruction.
Probably the most vital element is how the students love to see each other. They respond so well to seeing their classmates. The teacher they expect to see, but having the opportunity to link up with their friends is so important to their well-being and they are so excited in being there.
Work packets for classes have been available for collection outside school. Give the guard your student name and they will hand over the packet to you. As more teachers have been on complete lockdown they are using more ingenious methods to ensure work packets are available including using courier services to send to each other for printing and distribution.

Remember, the timetable has been arranged so screen time is limited to 20 minute divs for younger students with plenty of breaks in between to ensure their health and a learning environment that is as good as it can be in such circumstances.

Teachers are willing to help even outside of teaching time, particularly the higher grades who are facing AP exams soon.
Kindergarten teachers will be changing their timetable a little next week to give them time to read individually to each student to make sure they are keeping up with their critical English reading skills. All part of how the teaching environment evolves as online time is more than anticipated.
