K5 Explored The Classic Tale of The Gingerbread Man

ISNS

One of the cool things our K5 gang has been doing is exploring the classic tale of The Gingerbread Man. They've really gotten into it, reading different versions, understanding the characters, and putting the story events in order. And guess what? They've been learning some neat stuff like measuring and counting, which totally lines up with the IB's focus on learning skills.

During their Gingerbread Man adventure, our freshly baked cookies mysteriously disappeared from the oven! A real twist, right? So, our little detectives went on a mission to find those missing cookies.

The best part is that our K5 kids learned so much from this adventure. They discovered the importance of empathy and understanding in their interactions. They discovered that not all cookies are meant to be eaten; some want to be creative, while others need a little TLC. That's all about the IB values right there!

We can't wait for the rest of the year, filled with more fun, learning, and growing in the true spirit of the IB program.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank our amazing K5 Families for always supporting our students as they rock their educational journey!

The heart of music, the delivery of love

音乐之心,爱心传递

Yoyo Y.

·  G11 Student

Hello everyone, I am Yoyo Y. from Grade 11. Welcome everyone to attend this "Shenzhen Youth Charity Concert" organized by me.

"The heart of music, the delivery of love." is the important theme of this youth charity concert. Different from previous large-scale concerts, this one brings together many young performers who have just completed their piano playing studies. They will use their sonorous piano sounds to present their years of hard work and love for music on the stage to the audience. A musical carnival! Each song is a step in their piano life, telling their growth story with each note.

However, this concert is not only a feast of music, but also an opportunity to spread love. The organizer of the event adheres to the concept of "Heart of Music, Delivering Love" and promises to donate part of the profits from this event to "United Nations Children'sn Emergency Foundation", "World Wide Fund of Nature" and " Virtues Cultivation Educational Charity Foundation ". The sound of music warms corners of the world.

Teenagers will experience the joy of music in this youth charity concert, and plant the seeds of love in their hearts. We welcome and encourage all people who love music and care about charity, whether you are a music lover, a parent, or a friend from all walks of life, to participate in our activities and create a better community and future with us! !

G7 Science Geologic History of Earth Formative Quiz

This week, our 7th grade students concluded their study on the geological history of the Earth. During this lesson, the students actively participated in various activities, including the geologic time scale project, hands-on labs involving index fossils, scientific reading, and class discussions. To assess their understanding of the subject, the students also took a quiz this week. Moving forward, our focus in the upcoming week will be on examining the influence of plate tectonics on the Earth's surface.

G8 Science Atomic Structure Formative Quiz

This week, our 8th grade students completed their study on atomic structure. Throughout the week, students engaged in various activities, such as practicing atomic math and exploring atomic models through platforms like Quizizz and Quizlet, participating in class challenges, and conducting lab activities. As part of their assessment, students took a quiz to evaluate their comprehension of the topic. Moving forward, we will explore the periodic table and examine how scientists arrange the elements within it.

G12 Physics Students "Oppenheimer" Movie Adventure

This week, our Grade 12 physics students went on a trip to Yitian Holiday Plaza for a screening of "Oppenheimer".  The film served as a reminder that education isn't confined to textbooks - real understanding emerges when we correlate our academic knowledge with its applications and implications in the world around us.

The movie enabled students to draw connections to the topics our students delve into in IB Physics – specifically, Atomic, Nuclear, and Particle Physics.

The film initiated discussions on the ethical considerations associated with nuclear power. As our students learned in class, while nuclear energy offers an efficient and environmentally friendly alternative to fossil fuels, its potential misuse poses a significant moral dilemma, especially in warfare. "Oppenheimer" masterfully encapsulated this duality, prompting students to reflect upon the responsibilities that come with scientific advancements.
