IN MY HEART,
THERE'S CHINESE CULTURE;
READING AND WRITING CREATE A SPLENDID CHAPTER TOGETHER.
In the refreshing autumn, during the season of abundant harvest, Huamei Foreign Language School welcomes its second Chinese Culture Festival. The school aims to enhance students' patriotism, improve their aesthetic sense, and boost their cultural confidence through this cultural festival. The Chinese Culture Festival is divided into three segments: Calligraphy, Recitation, and Composition. Students are enthusiastic and actively participating, presenting a wide range of works, keeping everyone engaged.
The school campus is filled with the fragrance of ink, nourishing our hearts with art. The Chinese Culture Festival opens with a school-wide calligraphy competition. Thirty students from the school participated in the live competition. Before the competition, participants listened attentively to the teacher's instructions, and during the contest, they displayed meticulous writing with upright posture, resembling young calligraphers.

Teachers and students create art together, and the quintessence of Chinese culture flourishes. Teacher Liang Wuxiao and ninth-grader Xu Zhuoqi jointly organized a unique teacher-student painting and calligraphy exhibition. The exhibition features over twenty works, with most of the calligraphy pieces by Teacher Liang Wuxiao and the paintings by Xu Zhuoqi. Calligraphy is the treasure of Chinese culture, and we hope that students will study it seriously and contribute to the inheritance of Chinese culture.
The sound of reading fills the air, reciting beautiful chapters. Listen to the voices reciting, echoing in our ears. It's the Huamei students participating in the recitation competition, with phrases like "Clouds to rain, snow to wind, flowers to trees, birds to insects..." from first-grade students, slightly shy but confident, garnering admiration; or "Parking to make love in late maple woods, frosty leaves red as flowers in February," recited by third-grade students, immersing the audience in the beauty of late autumn's maple woods; and "The Red Army is not afraid of hardships, thousands of waters and thousands of mountains are just like walking..." recited by sixth-grade students, leading everyone to experience the heroism of revolutionary predecessors. In the competition, the participants conveyed confidence, beauty, love, and the charm of Huamei students.
Huamei is a campus filled with the fragrance of books. Besides the two beautiful libraries, there are bookshelves everywhere on campus, with extracurricular books filling students' after-school time. During the Chinese Culture Festival, parent-child reading activities are in full swing. Parents and children read books together, drawing their hearts closer through reading. Children read book after book, eager to share them with more readers. The "Recommend a Good Book" video speeches received many high-quality submissions. Children used their own methods to recommend their favorite books, covering a wide range from picture books to fantasy novels, from rigorous science books to all-encompassing works. The joint reading activity takes reading out of the classroom, out of the school, and into families and the hearts of children.

To further improve the writing abilities of Huamei students, the senior teacher Mu Xia held a special writing seminar for older students. She guided students in using a block structure to organize their articles, weaving them into beautiful and elegant flower baskets, creating artful and stylish compositions.
