The United Kingdom Mathematics Trust (UKMT) was established in 1996 with the aim of enhancing the mathematical education of British youth. It provides various national-level mathematics competitions and activities for students aged 11 to 18 in the UK. UKMT encourages students to utilize their logical reasoning skills, cultivate precise thinking, and apply fundamental mathematical methods to solve intriguing problems. Among the many mathematical thinking challenge activities organized by UKMT, the three primary levels are Junior Mathematical Challenge (JMC), Intermediate Mathematical Challenge (IMC), and Senior Mathematical Challenge (SMC). Each year, it attracts over 700,000 students from more than 6,000 schools across the United Kingdom, making it the largest and most influential national mathematics thinking challenge in the UK.

According to Teacher Deng from MIS, they guide students in establishing math clubs and creating a conducive learning environment. In their daily teaching, they don't restrict themselves to textbook knowledge but provide appropriate extensions to help students think deeply about mathematics. As far as they know, almost all students didn't receive additional coaching for this competition but instead used their free time and extracurricular activities to discuss previous years' questions and become familiar with the exam format. Students work on solidifying their subject foundations, help each other, ask questions diligently, which significantly reduces the challenge posed by this competition for them.

来自曼校的邓老师表示，我们引导学生开设数学俱乐部，提供好的学习氛围。在日常教学中不会局限于课本的知识，会进行合适的拓展以帮助学生对数学有更深层次的思考。据我所知，基本所有同学没有为这次比赛额外参加校外的竞赛辅导，而是利用课余时间与CCA时间与同学，老师探讨一些往年真题，熟悉考试形式。学生平时将学科基础打扎实，加上同学之间互相帮助，勤学好问，这个竞赛对学生的挑战会降低很多。.
