Safety Week
校园安全周

Last week, we placed a high emphasis on safety. On Tuesday, we practiced building evacuation. Your students did fantastically well at clearing the building in a safe and timely manner. On Wednesday, we had the community police give a presentation to the High School students raising awareness around drug and alcohol abuse. We greatly appreciate the support from the police. Finally, on Thursday, our bus students practiced a bus evacuation to ensure that, in the unlikely event of an accident, they are able to exit the vehicle calmly and safely. Safety is a top priority at SIS, and we are happy to see students do well demonstrating their awareness. Go Geckos!

我们上周高度重视安全教育。上周二我们开展了校园紧急疏散演习，同学们在及时且安全地撤离校园方面做得非常棒。社区警长在上周三向我们全体中学学生展开一次主题演讲，提高了他们对药物和酒精滥用的认知，我们非常感谢警方的支持。最后在上周四，我们又进行了校车紧急疏散演习，确保即使在发生概率极低的事故中，同学们也能平静且安全地撤离校车。安全教育是学校的首要任务，我们很高兴看到学生们表现出色，展示了他们的安去意识。壁虎学子加油！

DP and MYP teachers, as well as our Grade 11 and 12 Counselor, joined in a session on mapping lessons and skills related to the Approaches to Learning during the IB Workshops this past weekend. They focused on identifying teaching strategies and specific skills students need to transition between high school and post-secondary institutions successfully.

在上个周末的IB研讨课上，11&12年级顾问与DP和MYP教师们共同参与了与学习方法相关的课程设计和技能的培训，关注教学策略和具体方法用以识别学生在高中与高等教育机构之间过渡的需求。

Semester 1 Final Assessments
第一学期评估

Beginning this week, some classes will start the process of assessing for the final semester 1 report. In grades 6-10, we space these assessments out over 3 weeks so that there is a balance and to ensure that no student is completing too many assessments on any one given day. Additionally, G11 and 12 will be off timetable for the week of December 4-8 to write exams. We wish all students the best of luck in demonstrating their learning. Exciting stuff!

部分班级将从本周开始进行本学期期末报告评估。为了平衡考试安排，不将所有测试集中在一天进行，我们将对6至10年级的评估测试分成3周。此外11和12年级将不列入12月4日至8日这周的书面考试日程表。祝所有同学在考试期间取得好成绩，展示出自己的学习成果。拭目以待！
