在IGCSE阶段,学生可以从美术、平面传达、摄影、纺织品设计和3D设计中灵活选择,踏上一场自我发现的旅程。这个阶段让学生发展、探索、记录和展示他们的学习成果,创作出一系列反映个人艺术意图的作品。当他们升入A-level课程时,学生们将深入进行创造性的探索,产出反映个人愿景的作品,整个过程通常历时两年。我们的课程包括对艺术家、艺术运动和艺术品的研究,培养学生的研究技能和阐述艺术元素在各种艺术品中的运用的能力。

Expression and Communication

At the IGCSE stage, students embark on a journey of self-discovery by choosing from five diverse titles: Fine Art, Graphic Communication, Photography, Textile Design, and Three-Dimensional Design. This stage empowers students to develop, explore, record, and display their studies, creating a series of works that reflect their personal artistic intent.


Upon transitioning to A-levels, students engage in a deeper creative exploration, producing responses that bring their unique vision to life over the span of two years. Our courses encompass studies of artists, art movements, and artwork analysis, fostering research skills and the ability to articulate the use of elements of art in various artworks.

Diverse Paths of Exploration

In our A-level art and design courses, students are exposed to myriad paths for artistic exploration. From traditional classroom settings to visits to art galleries, museums, artist studios, and engaging art workshops. By encouraging students to perceive life itself as a source of inspiration, we instil a deep appreciation for the artistic potential in every facet of their surroundings.


Visiting art exhibitions serves as a pivotal opportunity for students to witness art beyond screens and books. By exploring paintings, registering woodblock prints, and examining large canvases and sculptures up close, students gain a tactile understanding of the artistic process. A recent visit to an exhibition featuring the works of James Jean exemplifies this commitment.

The exhibition not only displayed James Jean's extensive collection of manuscripts, sketchbooks, and colour studies but also allowed students to witness his meticulous approach to art creation. Students observed the artist's tentative steps, attention to detail and composition, and unwavering determination to constantly explore and improve to realize his ideas. As part of this immersive experience, students completed worksheets designed by our teachers, fostering critical thinking by selecting and analyzing a particular artwork that captivated their attention. This process stimulated lively discussions among peers, encouraging them to refine their proposals, annotate sketches, and deepen their critical understanding of the artistic process.

Beyond academic pursuits, art museums provide a unique community for our students, connecting them with like-minded individuals in the art world. By experiencing the value of creative works in a communal setting, students broaden their perspectives and recognize the collective power of artistic expression. This interconnectedness within the art community becomes a source of inspiration, fostering a sense of belonging and encouraging students to further explore and appreciate the diverse realms of creative expression.
