CLOSING CEREMONY
On January 19, Nord Anglia School Shenzhen held the ceremony for the end of the first semester of the 2023-2024 academic year. At the ceremony, the Chinese principal Ms. Fanny spoke highly of the hard work of the students this semester. She emphasized the need for students to continue actively practicing the ten IB learner attributes and urged them to work diligently and make progress every day, and keep curious about this world.

Looking back at the efforts that have been made, the children have cultivated and achieved. The students are vibrant, independent individuals, full of passion for exploring the world. They are open-minded, motivated, and enthusiastic young travelers, confident in every attempt they make. Showing joy in hard work, they once again excelled academically. At the ceremony, Mr. Jakub and Ms. Fanny awarded trophies to the outstanding students.
The IB program aims to cultivate learners who are active inquirers, knowledgeable, diligent thinkers, good communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, daring to try, balanced in development, and reflective. These ten goals embody the concept of whole-person education and are the core requirements for IB learner literacy. These core qualities have a significant impact on learners' future lives. Our School, adhering to this philosophy, presented awards to students who achieved these qualities at the graduation ceremony. Congratulations to them!
The World Scholar's Cup originated in the United States, with 50,000 delegates from over 140 global cities participating annually. It employs a unique inquiry-based learning method, focusing on an annual theme to explore science, sociology, history, art, literature, and general studies. The 2023 theme, "Reconstructing the Past - Reinventing the Past," challenges students to critically examine historical events and different versions of history, fostering historical awareness and a broadened perspective. Nord Bilingual School's teams, in their first participation, demonstrated immense courage and dedication, winning 23 silver and 29 gold medals. Two teams advanced to the Global Competition, providing an excellent opportunity to showcase their potential. Congratulations to all participants!
Nord Anglia's House System creates an environment of collaboration and competition that further extends the breadth and depth of students' thinking; Through the points system, the college helps students build a sense of collective honor, and fully gives students the opportunity to show their self-worth in the group, so that each student shines in their own collective.
Nuo House: represents the noble character of "keeping promises". The motto is "a promise is a promise", which calls on every student to believe in the truth and to realize their full potential in terms of personal character, academic development and social interaction.
De House: With the motto of "both virtue and ability", it advocates the values of honesty and integrity, and illuminates the splendid future of students.
An House: On behalf of the power of tranquility, encourage students to develop a dedicated, calm and quiet attitude to life. Its motto is "Quiet and far."
Da House: represents the noble character of life and life. Its motto, "Adults reach themselves", encourages students to recognize and achieve others while perfecting and understanding themselves.
Teachers are like guiding lights, leading us to distant horizons. Excellent teachers not only impart knowledge but also serve as guides, illuminating the path to spiritual growth. Congratulations to the award-winning teachers!
