As the term comes to a close, we approach the Year of the Dragon and the most important traditional festival of the Chinese——the Chinese New Year.
New Year is best celebrated with lavish banquets, beautiful fireworks, heartfelt blessings and lovely couplets. We enjoy the happiness of gathering with family and friends during the holiday, experiencing the traditional customs and starting a new chapter in a joyful atmosphere.
At the end of the school term, students in BMH, along with their teachers and parents, participated in a Chinese New Year fair filled with Chinese elements to welcome the Chinese New Year together!
In BMH community, Chinese New Year is celebrated not only by the Chinese people but also by every member of the community from all over the world. BMH's Chinese and foreign teachers provided a rich experience of New Year's customs for all the students.
Writing Spring Festival couplets, making pastries, cutting window flowers, painting fans, and guessing lantern riddles... Classes were in full swing, and students were enjoying the festive.
In Chinese culture, the dragon is considered auspicious, honourable, and powerful. The Chinese are also known as the 'descendants of the dragon'. During the Year of the Dragon, the teachers incorporated the dragon into every activity for the children to experience the customs of the New Year and gain a better understanding of the significance of the Year of the Dragon.
Wishing you all a wonderful Chinese New Year and time with your families. We will see you next term!
