PBL Hua Mei internationalized curriculum allows students to showcase their individual talents, achieving differentiated development. The school, relying on its own resources, has developed a distinctive curriculum system based on standardization and scientific principles. With students' lifelong development as the basic starting point, it further optimizes subject courses, achieving an organic integration of national curriculum, international understanding education curriculum, and future citizenship literacy curriculum, as well as integrating and optimizing subject courses and activity courses.
On the afternoon of March 15th, Zhou Xiang, the school's curriculum and teaching director, conducted a special training session titled "Method of designing lesson teaching objectives based on the context" for all teachers.
Director Zhou started with the five elements of classroom teaching, emphasizing that setting teaching objectives is the primary and core link of integrated teaching involving "teaching, learning, and evaluation." Teaching objectives have the functions of guiding learning, teaching, and evaluation, and designing teaching objectives is crucial for delivering a good lesson. Teachers should base their classroom teaching objectives on the curriculum objectives, combined with the actual learning situation, to develop observable and measurable objectives suitable for students.
Director Zhou conducted a detailed analysis of academic quality descriptions, teaching content, academic requirements, and teaching tips for various subject courses, elaborating on the meaning and definition of teaching objective action verbs. He also proposed the "three-dimensional narrative" method for designing teaching objectives based on the context, which involves understanding (student activities), forming (learning content and academic requirements), and achieving (academic quality).
Finally, Director Zhou, based on the actual situation of the school and the requirements of the PBL Hua Mei internationalized curriculum, formulated the "Hua Mei Foreign Language School Homework Management Regulations," which specify requirements for innovative homework design, hierarchical assignment and implementation of homework, and homework management, emphasizing that the implementation of efficient homework is a significant measure for advancing from quality awareness and action to quality benefits this semester.
After over an hour of learning, teachers gained a lot. The future is a long and challenging journey, and we hope that in the Hua Mei family, we can walk at the forefront of curriculum reform together, cultivating ourselves internally and shaping our image externally. Under the guidance of the PBL Hua Mei internationalized curriculum, we will comprehensively demonstrate teachers' personal teaching beliefs and styles, touch students' hearts, and nourish souls with interesting, wise, and thoughtful qualities.
