Safety education is of the utmost importance, and at BMH, we take it very seriously. In addition to our own internal training, we invite various external agencies, including the fire brigade, community police, and traffic police, to conduct a dynamic, creative, and age-appropriate safety programme for our children. We also collaborate closely with parents, ensuring that they are fully aware of safety precautions and how to implement them in activities. We strive to provide our children with the knowledge and skills they need to grow up safe, healthy, and happy.
In order to ensure that all teachers and students are fully aware of the knowledge of fire, have the ability to protect themselves and are able to respond effectively to an emergency, the Pre school held a fire drill.
Prior to the drill, we provided comprehensive instructions on the use of fire extinguishers, demonstrated the escape routes, and conducted firefighting knowledge and simulation drills for the students. Once the drill commenced, the teachers calmly and orderly led the children to the designated safe area, and the students remained calm and disciplined throughout. We also identified and rectified any issues that arose during the drill to further enhance the school's fire safety procedures and ensure the protection of teachers and students.
We would like to raise the Pre school children's awareness of self-protection and prevention of kidnapping, we carried out a drill. The drill involved Pre school inviting K1 parents to play the role of " bad guys" and lure children in various ways to see if they could be successfully abducted from the school.
The K3 children were lured by the remote-controlled cars and lollipops and, as a result, were unguarded and followed the "bad guys" out of the school gate. Once the teacher had intervened, the head of Pre school and volunteer parents met with all the K3 children to discuss the incident in detail and to reinforce safety education.
On 22 April, the Traffic Police Brigade of Longhua District conducted a traffic safety campaign at the Pre school. The event was designed for K2 and K3 children to learn about traffic safety.
Police officers explain to the children how to ride a bike properly, walk safely on the road, and to address other issues. Police officers engaged the children in conversation, asked them questions, and explained why it is important to obey traffic safety rules.
In addition, the police educate children on the importance of road safety in a clear and concise manner, emphasising the need for children to adhere to traffic rules and walk on the right side of the road when crossing. They also highlight the importance of paying attention to the blind spots of cars and avoiding playing on the road.
On 15 May, the Pre school invited police officer Zhang from Niuhu Police Station to deliver a lecture on the rule of law and conduct an anti-terrorism and anti-riot emergency drill for children in PreK and K1.
The police officer engaged the children in a question-and-answer session, an exercise in which they practised using instruments, and a detailed explanation of security knowledge. This approach enabled the children to gain a deeper understanding of security, the rule of law and prevention.
BMH school regularly conducts a series of safety drills every semester. These drills cover a range of topics, including traffic safety, family safety, campus safety, fire safety, natural disaster safety, and other aspects of campus safety. The drills are designed to educate children about safety and to provide them with the knowledge they need to grow up in a safe environment.
