Merchiston International School’s Acting Executive Head, Mr. Mark Bridgeman, recently visited the Shenzhen Bay Lab, to attend the High School Internship Program Mid-term Meeting. This meeting of scientists and interns was organized by Wendy Yuan, Deputy Director of the Centre for Outreach, Research and Education (CORE).  In addition, the meeting was attended by esteemed scientists Mr. Qiyu Peng, Deputy Director of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Mr. Justin Tan, Principal Investigator for the Institute of Cancer Research. The meeting was centered around engaging with students from MIS who are participating in summer research internships at the lab.

Following the student engagement, Mr. Bridgeman held discussions with Shenzhen Bay Lab leadership. The talks focused on exploring avenues for deeper collaboration, such as hosting events, lecture programmes and creating more internship opportunities for Merchiston students. Both parties expressed a strong commitment to fostering a partnership that promotes innovation and academic excellence.
