Exciting After-School Activities at ISNS for the 2024-25 School Year!

The 2024-25 school year at the International School of Nanshan Shenzhen (ISNS) is kicking off with an array of enriching after-school activities that cater to the diverse interests of our students. Starting from Monday, August 26, students will have the opportunity to enroll in a variety of after-school programs & Cambridge tests and preparation courses designed to foster creativity, teamwork, and personal growth. After-school programs are split into two categories: Teacher-Led Activities (FREE) and Optional Vendor-Led Activities.

ISNS Teacher-led activities (FREE)

ISNS Teacher-Led Activities are a fantastic opportunity for students to explore new interests and hone their skills under the guidance of our dedicated teachers. These activities are offered at no additional cost and are available for various grade levels.

In addition to the Teacher-Led Activities, ISNS offers Optional Vendor-Led Activities for those interested in specialized programs. These activities are provided by external vendors and come with a fee, offering unique learning experiences that go beyond the standard curriculum.

Registration for Cambridge Test and Preparation Course

We are pleased to inform you that ISNS will offer three Cambridge tests and preparation courses for our students in the first semester of 2024-25 school year, with details as follows:

Test 1

Level: A1 Movers
Who: G2-G3 students

Test Prep Dates: Sept 10/24, Oct 8/15/22/29, Nov 5/19/26, Dec 3/10/17 (12 sessions total, on Tuesdays)

Test Time: Saturday Morning, January 11, 2025

Test 2

Level: A2 Key for Schools (KET)

Who: G4-G6 students

Test Prep Dates:

Sept 9/23, Oct 7/14/21/28, Nov 4/25, Dec 2/9/16 (11 sessions total, on Mondays)

Test Time: Saturday Afternoon, January 11, 2025

Test 3

Level: B2 First for Schools (FCE)

Who: G7-G10 students

Test Prep Dates:

Sept 6/13/20/27, Oct 11/18/25, Nov 1/15/29, Dec 6/13, Feb 21/28, Mar 7/14 (16 sessions total, on Fridays)

Test Time: Saturday, March 22, 2025

For these tests, parents can choose to sign up their child(ren) with or without test prep. Please keep in mind that there are benefits to taking the test prep course:

Students can get more exposure to the type and format of questions.
Practice following instructions to minimize mistakes during testing.
Develop time management and self-management skills.
Receive personalized help and feedback from an IB English teacher.

Test prep courses will start at 3:30 pm and end at 4:30 pm. Both the test prep and the official test will take place on ISNS campus.

Please login to SchoolsBuddy //isns.schoolsbuddy.net/ or SchoolsBuddy 2.0 App and look for “Cambridge English Assessments 2024-25 Semester One” under “Activities & Clubs” to see the available offerings. Sign-ups start at 8:00 am on Monday, August 26, and the last day to sign up is Thursday, September 5.

After receiving your registration, ISNS Cambridge team will review your child(ren)’s learning profile to ensure the appropriate proficiency level. Please wait for a separate email with confirmation and payment details, which will be sent by September 4.

Cambridge Parent Information Session

On August 28, ISNS will host a Cambridge Parent Information Session to introduce interested parents to the advantages of Cambridge exams. The session will cover exam levels, certificates, and preparation tips. Details are as follows:

剑桥英语考试及备考课程报名

我们很高兴地告诉您，ISNS将在2024-25学年的第一学期为我校学生提供三场剑桥英语考试以及对应的备考辅导课程，具体内容如下：

第一场考试

考试级别: 剑桥少儿英语二级

考生范围: 2 至 3 年级学生

备考辅导上课日期:

：9 月 10/24 日，10月 8/15/22/29 日，11 月 5/19/26 日，12 月 3/10/17 日（周二上课，共 12 节课）

考试时间: 2025 年 1月 11 日（周六）上午

第二场考试

考试级别: KET，剑桥五级英语考试入门级

考生范围: 4 至 6 年级学生

备考辅导上课日期:

9 月 9/23 日，10月 7/14/21/28 日，11 月 4/25 日，12 月 2/9/16 日（周一上课，共 11 节课）

考试时间: 2025 年 1月 11 日（周六）下午

第三场考试

考试级别: （FCE，剑桥五级英语考试第三级）

考生范围: 7 至 10 年级学生

备考辅导上课日期:

9 月 6/13/20/27 日，10月 11/18/25 日，11 月 1/15/29 日，12 月 6/13 日，2 月 21/28 日，3 月 7/14 日（周五上课，共 16 节课）

考试时间: 2025 年 3月 22 日（周六）

对于这三场考试，家长可以选择是否为孩子报名备考课程。参加备考课程有很多好处：

接受IB英语老师的个性化帮助和反馈。
学生可以更多地了解考试的题型题量；
提前熟悉考试要求，以尽量减少测试过程中的失误；
练习时间管理和自我管理；

备考辅导在下午3:30分开始上课，4:30分下课。上课和考试地点都在ISNS校园内

剑桥考试家长说明会

8月28日，ISNS 将举办一场剑桥考试家长说明会，向感兴趣的家长介绍剑桥考试的优势。内容涵盖考试级别、证书以及如何准备考试等相关内容。具体信息如下：

地点：学校五层礼堂
