School Introduction
长沙市岳麓区彼一米森林学校(Changsha BeeMee Forest School,简称CBFS)是湖南湘杉教育集团旗下在星城长沙的第三所学校。在长沙“三高四新”强省会战略实施、人才政策“升级版45条”实行的大背景下,由湖南湘江新区管委会于2020年从北京朝阳区引进的总部经济项目,目标是为湖南培养更多具有全球眼光和格局的世界型人才、推进湖南长沙全球研发中心城市建设吸引和留住人才,全面打造的一所高端双语国际化学校。
Changsha BeeMee Forest School (CBFS), located in Yuelu District, Changsha, is the third school established in Changsha by the Dragon Spruce Education. In the context of Changsha's implementation of the "Three High, Four New" strategy to strengthen the provincial capital and the enactment of the upgraded 45 talent policies, CBFS was introduced in 2020 by the Management Committee of Hunan Xiangjiang New Area from Chaoyang District, Beijing as a headquarters economy project. The goal is to cultivate more globally-minded and visionary world-class talents for Hunan, to promote the construction of Changsha as a global research and development center city, and to attract and retain talents, thus establishing a high-end bilingual international school.
CBFS荟萃中西教育优势,目前已将IB PYP理念引入小学课程,形成了颇具特色的小学融合课程体系。同时,CBFS也将在不久的将来在初高中阶段引入剑桥IGCSE和A-Level课程,接轨国际化教育体系,期待为有小初高12年一贯制国际化教育需求的家庭提供高品质的国际化教育资源,培养深谙中华文化之美兼具开放、追求卓越与国际情怀的世界公民。
CBFS combines the advantages of both Chinese and Western education. It has already introduced the IB PYP (International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme) concept into its elementary curriculum, creating a distinctive integrated curriculum system for primary education. In the near future, CBFS also plans to introduce the Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level curricula for middle and high school stages, aligning with the international education system. This initiative aims to provide families with a high-quality, international education resource that spans 12 years of continuous education from elementary through high school, cultivating world citizens who appreciate the beauty of Chinese culture and possess openness, a pursuit of excellence, and an international perspective.

Integrating Chinese and Western Curricula
CBFS小学阶段以国家课程标准为核心,融入国际先进的课程理念,以人文科学、体育艺术、人工智能为特色的融合课程体系,包括核心课程、探究课程及特色课程三大板块。CBFS在日常教学中将这三类课程有机打通,通过PBL项目制、探究学习、超学科、中英双语沉浸式开展教学,为学生提供独一无二的国际化全人教育,使其具备世界公民的基础素质和各项技能,让他们更自信地面对未来。
At the primary school stage, CBFS takes the national curriculum standards as its core, integrating advanced international curriculum concepts and the IB curriculum framework to construct a diverse curriculum system that includes humanities and science, physical education and arts, and artificial intelligence, among others. This system comprises three main parts: core curriculum, inquiry curriculum, and featured curriculum. CBFS organically integrates these three types of courses in daily teaching through Project-Based Learning (PBL), inquiry-based learning, interdisciplinary studies, and immersive bilingual (Chinese and English) education. This approach provides students with a unique international holistic education, equipping them with the foundational qualities and skills of global citizens, and enabling them to face the future with greater confidence.

The inquiry curriculum covers multiple themes worthy of exploration, no matter where in the world the students are. BeeMee Museum of Art (BMOA) introduces educational resources from domestic and international scholars, curators, artists, and designers, creating an unprecedented form of art museum. It establishes a student-centered learning platform and focuses on "amplifying the educational function of the museum" as the internal driving force for curriculum development. Design thinking is at the core, developing a series of museum courses for elementary and middle school students. These courses aim to inspire students' creative and artistic thinking and promote the formation of values, abilities, and character to help them meet future challenges and contribute to society.

BeeMee's sports programs draw from advanced educational concepts such as "lifetime sports," "integration of education and physical education," and "sports, health, and science" from abroad. Students can choose from unique sports courses like equestrian, golf, canoeing, fencing, and climbing, based on their interests and hobbies. They can join the BeeMee International Sports Club (BISC) and form their own school teams. 小班制教学 Small Class Size
英式班级体制,师生比1:5,每班24名学生配置,配备一名外方班主任、一名中方班主任和一名中方助教,同时他们是学科老师,也共同负责家校共育、班级管理等。另外还配备了数学、科学、音乐、体育、美术以及信息技术等学科教师。学生能获得更高的关注度、更多的体验和展示机会,精准教学、精准辅导,提升课堂效率。
CBFS has a British class system with 1:5 teacher-student ratio and a maximum of 24 students per class. Each class has one international teacher, one Chinese homeroom teacher, and one Chinese teaching assistant, all of whom are also subject teachers, jointly responsible for parent communication and classroom management. In addition, there are teachers who specialize in mathematics, science, music, physical education, art, and other subjects. Students get more personal attention, more speaking and presentation opportunities, personalized teaching and mentoring to enhance classroom efficiency.
英式学院制 House system
CBFS秉承了英国学院制传统,设立四个学院。学院制打破了教学管理上按照年级划分的框架,不论性别、肤色、年龄及国籍,把各个年级的学生都融合在一个学院中。现有“居里学院” “爱因斯坦学院”“牛顿学院”“屠呦呦学院” 等四大学院(排名不分先后),每个学院都有其自身的独特标识和徽章。每个学院将配备一位外教老师作为这个学院的导师(House Tutor),指导学生互相帮助,相互合作积极完成各项任务;学院制还将管理者之外的所有教职员工分配到各自的学院,这一巧妙的制度为同学们的全面发展构建了坚实支撑,助力他们在等多领域迎难而上。
CBFS adheres to the British House System tradition, breaking away from a traditional framework that is strictly divided by grade, and integrating students of all grades into one house. Currently, there are four major houses, Curie, Einstein, Newton, and Tu Youyou, each with its own unique identity and emblem. Each house is assigned a foreign teacher as the House Leader to guide students to help each other and cooperate to complete various tasks. The house system also allocates all teaching staff to their respective houses, a clever system that builds solid support for students' comprehensive development, helping them to face challenges in many fields.
在每个学年当中,所有学生都有众多机会参加IB学习者之星评选、德育积分竞赛、体育竞赛、才艺展示、辩论赛等活动。学生获得的荣誉都会回归各自的学院,让学生们为了各自的学院而“战”。采用学院制,既是一种对精英文化的传承,也是一种“以老生带新生”的良性影响,有助于培养学生的领导力,发掘领袖特质。同时强化学生的集体荣誉感,提高团队合作意识。
Throughout each academic year, all students have numerous opportunities to participate in activities such as the IB Learner of the Year, moral education point competition, sports competitions, talent shows, and debates. The honors students receive will contribute back to their respective houses, encouraging them to "fight" for their house. Adopting the house system is both a tradition of high culture and a positive influence of "seniors leading juniors," which helps to cultivate leadership skills and discover leadership qualities in students. It also strengthens the sense of collective honor among students and enhances team cooperation.
个人导师制 Mentorship
基于学生身心全面发展的考虑,CBFS建立了全员导师制。校级层面有心理导师、生涯规划和升学导师,班级层面有班级个人导师、语言导师、行为导师(班主任),每位学生享受“N对1”的VVIP服务。每位导师将深入了解他们的学生,提供一对一的全方位人文心智关怀和额外的学术或个人全面发展的整体规划和指导,包括学业、心理、生活、社交、升学等方面。
Considering the comprehensive development of students, CBFS has established a mentoring system. At the school level, there are psychological mentors, career planning and college admission mentors; at the class level, there are individual class mentors, language mentors, and behavioral mentors (class teachers). Each student enjoys "N-to-1" VVIP services. Each mentor will deeply understand their students and provide one-on-one comprehensive care for their humanistic and intellectual needs, as well as holistic planning and guidance for additional academic or personal development, covering aspects such as academics, psychology, life, social interactions, and college admissions.

CBFS respects the differences and individuality of students, and tailors its teaching to the needs of students in daily lessons, reading and inquiry activities, etc. It provides customised teaching within the framework system of the school's curriculum and carries out small group/stratified teaching to tailor its teaching to the needs of students at different levels, so that students at different levels can find the most suitable path for their development.

The school has faithfully implemented the national "New Curriculum" guidelines for student assessment and introduced the International Baccalaureate (IB) assessment strategy, which combines process and summative assessment. 2024年,彼一米问天学院BASI的“未来航天科学家培养”专项人才项目,计划招收一批具有科技特长、对航天有浓厚兴趣的学生,组建 “航天少年科学家社团” 与卫星研制团队,通过课程与研学实践、工程实践相结合的方式,让学生们参与到卫星的创意、设计、研制、发射与应用过程中,甚至拥有知识专利,并发射升空属于自己的青少年科学实验卫星。
In 2024, the "Future Astronaut Scientists Training" special talent program at BeeMee Academy of Space Inquiry (BASI) plans to recruit a group of students with technological skills and a strong interest in astronautics. The program aims to form the "Young Astronaut Scientists Club" and a satellite development team. By integrating coursework with research and practical engineering experiences, students will participate in the design, development, launch, and application processes of satellites, potentially owning intellectual property rights and even launching their own youth science experimental satellites.

As a key project in the transformation of Changsha's Old Town and the largest international education project in Changsha, CBFS is one of the few international schools to open in the city center of a provincial capital in the past five years. 除专业的安保人员严格按照工作制度巡检外,CBFS校内配置了完善的安全防范系统,包括视频监控系统、门禁控制系统等;24小时无死角高清网络监控,全学院除卫生间,室内外共安装359个200万的像素星光级摄像头;突发紧急案事件启动一键报警设备联接上级部门及报警指挥中心,实时监控,时刻不松懈。
In addition to professional security personnel strictly following work regulations for inspections, the school is equipped with a comprehensive security system, including video surveillance systems and access control systems, to protect students around the clock and in all aspects. The campus implements 24-hour high-definition network monitoring using 2 million pixels star-level cameras. The whole school except for the bathroom is monitored. There are a total of 359 indoor and outdoor cameras on campus. The key monitoring content is stored for more than 90 days and other areas are stored for no less than 30 days. At the same time, key areas are installed with one-touch alarm equipment connected to higher authorities and the alarm command centre to implement real-time monitoring, so as not to let up at all times.

CBFS在膳食方面注重食材的安全、餐食的营养和菜品的美味,并配备专职校医负责学生营养餐的指导分析、食谱配方开发。餐厅专门为学生定制一日三餐两点,中西餐兼备,菜单按照学生身体发展需要及健康摄入热量精心配置设计,满足学生每日所需的六大营养需求。
CBFS focuses on the safety of ingredients, the nutrition of meals, and the deliciousness of dishes, and employs a full-time school doctor responsible for the guidance and analysis of students' nutritional meals and the development of recipe formulations. The cafeteria customizes three meals a day and two snacks for students, offering both Western and Chinese cuisine. The menu is carefully designed according to the students' physical development needs and healthy caloric intake, fulfilling the six major nutritional requirements needed daily.
食材供应分别来自通过HACCP和GFSI认证的批发零售企业麦德龙和彼一米自有的生态农场,均有可追溯体系,实现供应链全程监控。食堂制定标准化流程,中央独立厨房,明厨亮灶,教育局联网监控、手机随时监控;48小时的食品留样柜,餐具消毒柜;实行餐前尝餐制度,后勤主任严格落实每餐提前半小时进行尝餐。
The daily menu is carefully designed based on the needs of student body development; ingredient supplies come from Metro and their own eco-farm, both certified by HACCP and GFSI, with traceable systems to achieve full supply chain monitoring. The cafeteria has standardized processes, a central independent kitchen, transparent cooking areas, monitoring connected to the education bureau, and mobile monitoring; a 48-hour food sample storage cabinet, utensil sterilization cabinet. It implements a system where meals are tasted half an hour before serving by the logistics director to ensure strict compliance.
校车服务 School Bus Services
为了满足家长的接送需要,同时缓解交通压力,支持绿色低碳出行,CBFS选择经教委认证的专业校车,5条校车线的站点覆盖长沙市主要城区。每辆校车均设一位校车乘务员,司乘人员经过相关校车管理条例、道路交通法律法规及岗位培训上岗,并与家长们保持密切沟通,共同负责孩子安全及维持车上纪律。
In order to meet the transport needs of parents, and at the same time ease the traffic pressure, green and low-carbon travel, with the support of the government and the Education Bureau, CBFS selects professional school buses certified by the Education Commission to provide school bus services. The 5 bus lines will cover the major urban areas of Changsha City. Each school bus has a school bus attendant, who is trained in relevant school bus regulations, road traffic laws and regulations, and post training, and maintains close communication with parents and is jointly responsible for children's safety and maintaining discipline on the bus.
