When people talk about MIS Shenzhen, they can't help picturing an image of 'Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry' in their minds. The young and the restless teenagers, dressed in British-style school uniforms, holding books in their hands walking in a castle school that shows a unique splendor and charm of a century-old school.
And MIS Longhua's neighboring friend Marisfrolg Fashion Group, also located in Shenzhen's Dalang Fashion Town, is called the most mysterious and magical building in Shenzhen because the building looks like a seabird with its wings wide open if looked from the air. It's bionic design makes the whole building full of magic and vitality.
Recently, the two 'magic' place started a journey of art for cultural exchange.
Under the guidance of the Marisfrolg staff, the teachers and students of MIS were invited to visit the office area of Marisfrolg. As soon as they entered the building, they were amazed by the garden design, thinking that they were intruding into a 'Magic castle' on an alien planet. Every step of the way, everyone were immersed in the world of art and aesthetics.
The staff introduced that the building designers adopted the sustainable development concept when designing the building. Those colourful stone walls and pillars are all made of recycled stones, bricks and discarded broken ceramic tiles which are reshaped after being crushed and toned. They not only carry the mission of environmental protection, but also add a unique artistic charm to the building.
Inside, the ‘Glass Flows in Myriad Forms’ art exhibition is being held. Inspired by the crystal that glaze is made of, the exhibition showroom was designed into a semi-open labyrinth, displaying more than 100 pieces of glaze art collections from home and abroad, creating an immersive aesthetic and fashionable vibe.
In the Marisfrolg building, there is an audiovisual installation called ‘Floating Light’, produced by the Marisfrolg M-ART Art Museum. Artworks from different cultures and various ideas from all over the world are exhibited here, presenting the multi-dimensional creativity derived from glaze by artists, attracting teachers and students to stop and appreciate the infinite attraction of the works.
A crisp shutter click during the group photo of the students then brought the wonderful visit to a successful conclusion.
We firmly believe that every student has unlimited potential and possibilities. For this reason, MIS has been sparing no effort to build an open and integrated art exchange platform for our students, providing them access to the top domestic and international companies in fashion industry and art organizations, and enabling them to participate in off-campus art development events and various art competitions. This will inspire their creative thinking and help them find their lifelong passion.
In addition, MIS will also invite famous designers from home and abroad to our school some time to provide our students with trending art courses with breadth of learning. This is why the students who graduated from MIS Shenzhen have been able to shine in their fields of passion and achieve remarkable success.
We believe that the fantastic cooperation between ‘Magic School’ and ‘Magic Castle’ will not stop here, and there is still more possibilities waiting for us to explore. We are looking forward to more fantastic stories with our students in the future as our “magic power” builds up day by day.
