As the autumnal hues deepened, a special gathering unfolded with warmth at The King’s School Shenzhen (KSS). Ms. Camilla Webster, Head of Pre-Prep at The King's School, Canterbury (KSC), and Ms. Nina Hunt, International Director of KSC, among others, travelled thousands of miles to Shenzhen to get together with us Pre-Prep’s parents, and launched a cordial and in-depth conversation.
The arrival of Ms. Webster and Ms. Hunt is not only a testament to the profound friendship between KSS and KSC but also a vivid reflection of the close interaction between the two. During this event, parents directly communicated with representatives of the KSC, gaining insights into the connections and collaboration between the two campuses in terms of educational philosophy, curriculum design, and cultural heritage.
Ms. Webster highlighted in her conversation that the connection between KSC and KSS extends far beyond the inheritance and resonance of educational philosophies; it is also evident in the meticulous alignment of curriculum offerings and the frequent interactions between teachers and students. Our two campuses share the same curriculum system, uniform styles, and similar campus aesthetics. This resonance across geographical boundaries allows teachers and students from both campuses to grow and learn in an environment that mirrors one another.

She further emphasized that the core objective of the close collaboration between our two campuses is to open a window to the world for the pupils. In the context of globalization, pupils can gain a deeper understanding of multiculturalism and diverse values. Gradually, they are nurtured to become global citizens with an international perspective, innovative thinking, and profound insights into both Chinese and Western cultures
Additionally, this year marks the second year of the pen pal programme in the two campuses. After receiving replies from their friends in the UK campus, our K3 pupils are filled with excitement and anticipation as they pick up their pens once again to send their most sincere greetings to their friends far away. These letters, which will be personally taken back to the UK by Ms. Webster, serve as yet another testament to the profound friendship between the two campuses.
In this autumn, the close bond between KSC and KSS is as fruitful as the season’s harvest. The shared heritage and diverse deep interactions between the two campuses not only enrich the soil for the children’s growth but also add more vibrant highlights to the friendship between the two campuses.
We look forward to this cross-border educational connection will inspire our students to grow into versatile talents who are fluent in both Chinese and English. We hope that they will bravely explore every corner of the world in the future, using their knowledge, wisdom, and empathy to make a positive impact to the world!
