This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Sister Schools Partnership Programme. On December 3rd, MIS and the ELCHK Yuen Long Lutheran Secondary School(Hong Kong) officially signed an agreement to become sister schools, opening a new chapter in educational cooperation and exchange between prestigious schools in Shenzhen & Hong Kong.

Since its establishment seven years ago, MIS has actively integrated itself into the high-quality educational development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, fostering educational exchanges and cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong. This contributes to the region’s economic growth, social stability, and prosperity by providing strong talent and educational support. 

Looking back at 2019, to support Hong Kong’s patriotic police in fulfilling their legal duties to safeguard national security and social stability, MIS took decisive action to address their children’s educational needs. The school opened a special admission pathway and provided full scholarships, ensuring that the children of Hong Kong’s patriotic police could receive high-quality international education in Shenzhen. This initiative demonstrated MIS's commitment to supporting the rule of law and social harmony in Hong Kong. 

Over the years, the children of these police officers have brought joy and warmth to MIS, leaving their mark in its classrooms, dormitories, dining halls, and sports fields. They have experienced the care and love inherent in MIS’s family-like culture. In terms of education, MIS’s faculty have embraced an innovative and integrative teaching philosophy, exploring new approaches to blending Shenzhen and Hong Kong’s educational systems. This approach nurtures students with patriotism, international vision, and global competitiveness, preparing them to become well-rounded, future-ready talents. 

These compassionate and impactful actions reflect MIS’s sense of social responsibility and inspire broader societal efforts to recognise the powerful role education plays in fostering positive change. Moving forward, MIS will continue to open its doors to provide high-quality education to children from patriotic families, including those of Hong Kong’s social and business leaders, supporting talent development and educational integration between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

As the only foreign-owned international school in Shenzhen’s northern region approved by the city’s education bureau, MIS is actively aligning itself with Shenzhen’s urban development goals. Leveraging its authentic British holistic education model, the school has strengthened partnerships with key institutions such as the Guangming District Government, Shenzhen Bay Laboratory, Sun Yat-sen University (Shenzhen campus), and Shenzhen Institute of Technology.
