G6 艺术课


G6 students are completing reflections on their latest assessments. Within the MYP Arts, students are assessed in evaluating their own work. They are expected to be able to appraise their own artwork and reflect on their development as an artist. Students document this in their art process journal at the end of the unit once they have completed their artwork. 

G6同学近期正在开展自我反思评价学习。在MYP艺术课程中,学生对自己的作品进行评估,他们要能够评价自己的艺术作品并反思自己作为艺术家的成长历程。学生通常在完成自己的艺术作品后单元结束时进行这项任务,并在艺术创作日志里记录自己的创作过程。

G9 students are researching ceramic artists to find one whose work particularly resonates with them. This personal connection is intended to strongly motivate them to delve deeply into their study. During the process, a figurine is displayed as an example while formative feedback is provided orally. This ensures that students understand the project expectations and have opportunities to revise and improve their work.  

G9同学正在研究陶瓷艺术家,以找到一位其作品特别能引起他们共鸣的艺术家。这种与个人相关联的学习探索旨在极大地激励他们深入研究。在这个过程中,会展示一个小雕像作为示例,同时以口头形式提供形成性反馈。这确保了学生们理解项目的要求,并有机会修改和完善自己的作品。 



G9 Chinese

G9 中文课


As we celebrate the festive spirit of Christmas, our G9 students have embraced the theme of seasonal gratitude in our Social Emotional Learning (SEL) course. They recently wrote Thank You cards to the dedicated supporting staff who contribute to our school’s warm and welcoming atmosphere. 


This project highlighted the importance of recognizing the hard work of our security guards, cleaners, and maintenance team. Each card was filled with heartfelt messages of appreciation for their daily efforts in making Net Valley a comfortable place for all of us. 


Through this act of gratitude, our students not only uplifted the spirits of those who serve but also learned the vital lesson of acknowledging others’ contributions. As we move through this joyful season, let’s all remember to express our thanks, fostering a culture of kindness and respect. 


大家都沉浸于庆祝圣诞节的欢乐气氛中,我们的G9同学在社会情感学习(SEL)课上践行”节日感恩”这一主题。近期他们为我校营造温馨欢迎氛围的后勤支持员工制作了感谢卡。 


这个学习项目让大家意识到辛勤工作的安保、清洁和维修团队工作的重要性。每张卡片都充分代表了大家对他们日常努力工作的由衷感谢,感谢他们让我们的网谷校园变得更加温馨舒适。 


我们的同学通过感恩行动不仅弘扬了服务精神,还学习到了认可他人贡献的重要一课。在这个欢乐的节日里,让我们一起表达感谢,传播善良与尊重的文化。 



G10 Chinese Language & Literature Creative Writing - Harnessing AI While Upholding Academic Integrity 

G10 中文语言文学创意写作 - AI助力与学术诚信并行


G10 Chinese Language & Literature students are currently engaged in a creative writing project, crafting character biographies based on the novel Rickshaw Boy. They are utilizing AI tools to expand their creativity while actively researching relevant historical contexts. 


To support this process, we invited Mr. Alastair Fairman, our teaching librarian, to join the Grade 10 Chinese class. He provided a comprehensive session on the critical principles of academic integrity in the era of artificial intelligence, along with guidance on how to use NoodleTools to accurately cite AI resources. 


In this age of rapid AI development, Grade 10 Chinese Language & Literature students are striving to become critical thinkers and principled learners, exploring the path of literary creation while enhancing their academic skills and upholding integrity. 

G10中文语言与文学课正围绕长篇小说《骆驼祥子》展开人物小传的创意写作活动,他们利用人工智能工具拓展灵感并积极调查相关历史背景。 


我们特别邀请图书馆老师 Mr. Alastair Fairman 走进G10中文课堂,为同学们详细讲解在人工智能时代至关重要的学术诚实准则,同时指导大家如何运用 NoodleTools来精准引用人工智能资源。 


在这个人工智能蓬勃发展的时代,G10中文语言与文学课学生们正努力成为具备批判性思维能力且坚守学术诚信的学习者,在文学创作与学术素养提升的道路上不断探索前行。 



G10 Individuals & Societies 

G10 个人与社会课

G10 Individuals and Societies students were sharing out their summative work for Unit 2. During this unit, they focused on systems of power and how they can be used to affect culture, exploring how propaganda can be used to manipulate and persuade. Using Nazi Germany as a case study, students evaluated a Nazi propaganda piece, then created their own counter-propaganda piece, of which they also provided a written evaluation. They were also able to practice their communication ATL by presenting their analyses in class. These pictures show the result of their hard work. 

G10个人与社会课的同学正在分享他们的第二单元总结性作业。在这个单元中,他们专注于研究权力系统如何被用来影响文化,并探讨了宣传如何被用来操纵和说服他人。学生以纳粹德国为案例研究,评估分析了一件纳粹宣传作品,然后创作了自己的反纳粹宣传品,并对此进行了书面评价。他们还在课堂上展示自己的分析,从而练习了沟通ATL技能。图片展示了他们努力的成果。 



G11 & G12 End of Semester 1 Exams 

G11 & G12 第一学期末测试


IB DP students have just completed their End of Semester Exams. These exams offer students an opportunity to test themselves on several units of material at once. These also provide the opportunity for students to get practice in an exam room run in full-IB conditions; including exam timings, invigilators, and similar exam papers and stationery.  


To help support students, they have been off timetable for exams, which allows them to learn self-management skills for independent study; while still having access to their teachers for questions and review help. Finally, Exams allow teachers get vital data on student learning from these assessments, which helps inform them of next steps in their teaching and curriculum coverage.  

IB DP 学生刚刚完成了他们的学期末考试。考试为学生们提供了一次同时检测自己对多个单元知识掌握程度的机会。此外,这些考试还让学生有机会在完全符合国际文凭项目要求的考场环境中进行练习,包括考试时间、监考人员以及相似的试卷和文具。


学生在考试期间没有安排常规课程,他们能够学习自我管理技能以进行自主学习的同时,仍然可以向老师提问得到帮助。考试还能让老师从这些评估中获得关于学生学习情况的重要数据,从而帮助他们了解接下来教学和课程覆盖的下一步计划。

The SIS Design Arcade is an eagerly anticipated event. Students in G7 have been working hard to develop and code games that promote sustainability through the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Thanks for all the hard work and for putting on such a cool event! The creativity was truly inspiring!

Facing Challenges: How SIS MS Boys Touch Team Thrived Against Tough Opponents

面对挑战:SIS初中男子触地橄榄球队在对抗强劲对手中茁壮成长


Even though the boys went winless throughout last week’s SDRC Tournament, the SIS MS Boys Touch team showcased remarkable growth as they faced off against strong and experienced opponents in six tough matches. 


Each game presented unique challenges that tested their skills, resilience, and teamwork, providing invaluable learning opportunities. The boys not only honed their technical abilities but also developed a deeper understanding of strategy and sportsmanship. As they reflected on their experiences, it was evident that the two days fostered not just individual development, but also a strong sense of camaraderie, fun and leadership within the team. 


All SDRC Players were Remi L and Bryan L, but all the boys deserve recognition for their continued growth! 

尽管上周在 SDRC 锦标赛中未获胜绩,但SIS 初中男子触地橄榄球队在面对六个强劲且经验丰富的对手时,展现出了显著成长。 


每场比赛都带来了独特的挑战,考验着他们的技术、韧性和团队合作,为他们提供了宝贵的学习机会。球员们不仅磨练了自己的技术能力,还对战略和体育精神有了更深刻的理解。当他们回顾这两天的经历时,很明显不仅促进了个人发展,还增强了团队内的深厚友情、乐趣和领导力。

ACAMIS - SIS 游泳队闪耀赛场,向传奇学习!


SIS was proudly represented by three swimmers, each achieving incredible personal bests in most of their races, with some even securing heat wins. They also had the unique opportunity to meet and chat with Andrii Govorov, the 50m long course butterfly record holder, who generously shared valuable insights and inspiration. 

由三名游泳选手骄傲地代表SIS参赛,他们取得了令人难以置信的个人最佳成绩,还赢得了小组赛胜利。他们获得了与50米长池蝶泳纪录保持者 Andrii Govorov 交流见面的独特机会, Govorov 先生慷慨地分享了他宝贵的见解和灵感。
