1月6日,在深圳市鲸帆港人子弟学校第十九周升旗仪式后,老师和同学们围绕“诚信”这一主题发表了国旗下的演讲。
Dear principals, teachers, fellow students, good morning,
Today, I stand before you to talk about a value that plays a vital role in shaping our lives, both now and in the future—honesty.
Honesty is more than just telling the truth. It is about being genuine, sincere, and transparent in all our actions. It is the foundation of trust, a key element in all relationships, whether with our friends, teachers, or family. When we are honest, we build a sense of integrity within ourselves that others can rely on. This trust becomes the glue that holds our community together.
As students, we are often faced with situations where honesty is put to the test. One of the most challenging moments for many of us is during exams. The pressure to perform well can sometimes lead us to consider shortcuts. We might be tempted to look at someone else's paper or use unauthorized materials. However, it is crucial to remember that cheating does not benefit us in the long run. At first, it may seem like a quick solution to the stress or fear of failure, but it comes at a greater cost. When we act dishonestly, we lose our self-respect, and worse, we break the trust of those around us. Teachers and classmates who believe in our integrity may start questioning our character.
Honesty is not only important during exams; it’s important in every aspect of life. It helps us face challenges head-on, even when the truth is difficult to confront. When we take responsibility for our actions and admit our mistakes, we learn from them and grow stronger. In the long term, the habits we form as students—whether it's choosing to be honest in exams or owning up to our mistakes—will shape us into responsible, trustworthy individuals in the future.
So, as we continue our journey as students, let’s commit to being honest in all that we do. Let's choose the right path, even when it's hard, and build a reputation based on integrity. Remember, success achieved with honesty is much more valuable than any victory gained by deception.
Thank you.

Dear principal, teachers, and students, good morning. I am Leo from 4B.
Today, I want to talk about "Honesty in life, integrity in exams."
As we all know, honesty is a traditional virtue of our Chinese nation. It is also one of the core socialist values for primary and secondary school students in China, and the foundation for each and every one of us to build a strong character.
Time flies, and in the blink of an eye, a new year has arrived. At the same time, we are also about to face the final exams of this semester. Yes, the final exam is not only a review of our learning outcomes but also a test of our morality and integrity.
Confucius once said, "The superior man is trustworthy." This statement highlights the importance of integrity as a fundamental principle of being human.
Finally, I hope that all students can achieve their ideal results in the final exams.
Thank you!

Dear principals, teachers, and students, good morning. I’m Ruochen Ni from 4B.
Today, I want to talk about four important qualities: self-respect, self-esteem, self-reliance, and self-discipline.
In life, we must first learn to have self-respect. Only by respecting ourselves can we earn the respect of others. Self-esteem, on the other hand, involves cherishing our own reputation and image, behaving in a dignified and generous manner. Self-reliance means depending on our own strength to strive and bravely face the challenges of life.
Self-discipline is also crucial—it is the key to success. We must set strict standards for ourselves, avoid indulgence, and never be slack in our efforts. By cultivating these four qualities, we can become truly responsible and capable individuals.
That’s all.
Thank you.
