For BMHers, the winter season is marked by the unique and highly anticipated 'BMH Winter Fair'. This event provides an opportunity for cherished time with friends, family and teachers, offering the benefits of joy and fellowship.
This year, our Winter Fair attracted nearly 2,000 visitors and marked a successful culmination of BMH's Year of the Dragon. The event featured vibrant performances and bazaars, demonstrating the school's commitment to cultural enrichment and community engagement.
On that day, the main stage of BMH hosted more than 40 excellent performances. The much-anticipated event commenced with a vibrant Qilin dance and a school choir, setting the tone for a day of celebration.
On stage, young performers in red strappy trousers danced to the melodies of the times; meanwhile, the Chinese Zodiac story theatre performance received a standing ovation from the audience. Original songs highlighted the innocence and vigour of the children, set against the backdrop of guitars and dance.
The innovative combination of an ancient poem and a modern song created a sense of optimism for the New Year, while the father-son magic flute and flute duet was warm and heartfelt. The presentation of traditional arts, such as the lion dance and opera, was very Chinese in character.
Highlights far beyond! The PTA parents' runway show was magnificent and glamorous, the English version of "Going up to Mountain" by all pre school teachers brought infinite joy and blessings, and the stunning staging of the traditional Chinese Ki Lin Dance, face-changing pushed the atmosphere of the scene to a climax!
We are so proud of our community members for their hard work and dedication. The props, costumes, and staging added a magical touch, creating a truly immersive experience for all.
Beyond the stage, there were almost 50 booths set up by parents, the school, and external suppliers. These booths offered a variety of activities, including games, crafts, and food stalls. Each stall was meticulously prepared with unique items for sale, offering a range of culinary delights, beverages, activities, and shopping opportunities at BMH.
The stalls were built from scratch, the projects were carefully prepared thanks to the hard work of the PTA members and staff. They made the dream come true step by step, and the bustling bazaar brought infinite surprises and joy to everyone.
As the first large-scale event of BMH in 2025 and the perfect ending of the Year of the Dragon, the 'Winter Fair' is of great significance. The primary financial gain from this event will be allocated to support autistic children, thereby ensuring our benevolence and compassion reach a wider audience and more individuals can enjoy the festivities.
During the event, BMH children excelled in various activities, showcasing their talents and contributing to the success of the event. Their contributions as performers, hosts, junior reporters, volunteers, and co-organisers have demonstrated their exuberant creativity and self-confidence.
The success of each activity is attributable to the selfless dedication and joint efforts of community members. This collaborative effort exemplifies the concept of 'Home-school collaboration' and has been instrumental in propelling the school's development. We would like to extend our sincerest thanks and best wishes to all the family members and friends who have supported BMH all the way. We wish you all a prosperous Year of the Snake and all the best!
Special thanks to the PTA, the parents of P3B Yiming Liu, and the parents of K1B Yian Shao for a successful Winter Fair!
