On February 20, 2025, our boys' basketball team won the championship among international schools in Shenzhen. This was probably the happiest day of my career at our beloved school. Basketball is the most popular sport in China, and all international schools take team formation very seriously. The competition is extremely high.
We established our basketball team six years ago, but this is the first time we have won the championship. This is a huge achievement for our team, our department, and the entire school. All our players performed at their best: they trained hard, sacrificed personal time, and supported each other.
The leaders of our team—Eric, Michael, and Anthony—stood out in particular. I would like to give special attention to these players. Eric is a long-time leader and captain, an excellent player and person whom the entire team looks up to. Michael, one of the team leaders, played exceptionally well during the most challenging moments of the games and helped secure victories. Despite a serious injury mid-season, he managed to recover in time for the finals and delivered an outstanding performance. Anthony, the MVP of the finals, is an incredible player who found the mental strength to return to the team after a break and became an integral part of our championship-winning team. All the other players, regardless of their time on the court, also performed at their very best.
I and the entire team are deeply grateful to the school administration for their unwavering support throughout the years of our team's existence. WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!
