High School Students Debut on the International Academic Stage as ESG Research Gets Published in a Peer-Reviewed Journal



2024年第十届ICBMECONF在十一月于伦敦举行,由万科梅沙书院师生联合完成的ESG研究成果于大会亮相并引起关注。作为本届大会唯一的高中生发言团队,梅沙学子以全英文发表题为ESG and Corporate Valuation of Non-financial Listed Firms: Evidence from China 》的学术报告,完成在该权威学术平台的科研首秀。

此外,该论文在接受了同行评审后,被收录至国际学术期刊International Journal of Management and Economics 中,得到学术界认可。


The 10th ICBMECONF was held in London in November 2024, where an ESG research project jointly conducted by faculty and students of Vanke Meisha Academy made its debut and garnered attention. As the only high school team presenting at the conference, the students delivered a fully English academic report titled “ESG and Corporate Valuation of Non-financial Listed Firms: Evidence from China” , marking their first research showcase on this prestigious academic platform.

Furthermore, after undergoing peer review, the paper was officially published in the International Journal of Management and Economics, earning recognition from industry experts.

With sustainability becoming a core issue in global business, this research aligns closely with both academic and industry trends. Focusing on the Chinese market, the study analyzes data from non-financial listed companies in China between 2019 and 2024, uncovering the deeper impact of ESG performance on corporate valuation.

大会线上演讲


“这不仅是课堂学习的一次延伸,也是学生基于个人专长主动迎接学术挑战的尝试,一次重要的能力提升机会。”

论文指导老师Vincent指出,课题组的三位高中生深度参与主题研究,从背景知识的学习,到文献资料的搜集,再到数据结果的解读,在持续将近一年的研究中始终保持求知的热枕。他们不仅主动发起了十余次深度讨论,保持个人思考的同时也主动与老师进行有效沟通,虚心听取老师的专业意见,凭着坚持和努力完成了7次修改,最终论文被国际会议录用,并在同行评审的国际期刊上顺利发表。

Vincent老师也指出,此次论文研究的价值不仅在于学术产出,更在于学生们努力确立个人学术目标、提升学术素养和专业精神上。例如,他们展现出从海量信息中捕捉关键论据的能力、批判性思维方式以及将复杂结论转化为商业洞见的写作技巧。

“This is not only an extension of classroom learning but also an opportunity for students to take on academic challenges based on their strengths, significantly enhancing their research capabilities,” said Vincent Liu, the thesis.

Over nearly a year of research, the three high school students actively engaged in every stage, from learning background knowledge and reviewing literature to analyzing data and interpreting results, maintaining their passion for inquiry. They initiated over ten in-depth discussions, balanced independent thinking with effective communication, and embraced professional feedback from their teacher. Through persistence and seven rounds of revisions, their paper was accepted by an international conference and successfully published in a peer-reviewed journal.

Vincent Liu also emphasized that the significance of this research extends beyond academic output. It represents an effort to establish personal academic goals, enhance scholarly literacy, and develop professional skills—such as the ability to extract key arguments from vast information, apply critical thinking, and translate complex conclusions into business insights.
