As of 27th March, the early university application results from Shekou International School (SIS) have been rolling in with outstanding success.

SIS students have showcased a wide range of academic interests and talents, securing offers across diverse fields such as business, law, arts, sciences, and veterinary medicine.

This year has been particularly remarkable in the arts, with students gaining admission to Parsons School of Design (World #3), Rhode Island School of Design (World #4), and Pratt Institute (World #6), among other world-renowned institutions.

Additionally, one student has been admitted to the Royal Veterinary College, University of London, ranked 1st globally in veterinary sciences, reflecting the breadth of talent and versatility among SIS students.

The impressive university placement results of 2025 are a testament to the students' dedication, the teachers' unwavering support, and the school’s holistic education approach. To address key concerns among senior students and parents—such as university pathways, IB subject selection, and gaining admission to top universities—the SIS university guidance team and teaching staff work closely to provide comprehensive support, helping students gain a clearer understanding of themselves and achieve their academic aspirations.

“Our university guidance programme starts as early as Grade 9,” explains Pamela, SIS University Guidance Counsellor. 

“We organise sessions on academic pathways, university and career workshops, host various fairs, and introduce students to different institutions and their requirements well in advance. Our guidance approach is tailored to each student’s strengths and passions, helping them develop autonomy and find their best-fit university.”
