In the vast expanse of aesthetic education, art education is like a dazzling pearl, emitting a unique and charming radiance. Huamei Foreign Language School in Luohu District, Shenzhen, deeply integrates the concept of aesthetic education. By combining the "Half-day-per-week Plan" with the "One Aesthetic Education Activity", it provides a broader practical space for education and helps the school realize its "Huamei" educational vision.
During the off-campus practical art class, students are organized to visit Renmin Park. They can personally experience the beautiful scenery that surrounds them in daily life, broaden their artistic horizons, and feel the beauty in different contexts, accumulating rich materials for creating "beautiful paintings" works.
"The beauty of the flowers, the beauty of the paintings, and the beauty of the people at Huamei." The aesthetic education activity of sketching Chinese roses in Renmin Park is a wonderful rendezvous between nature and art. When stepping into the Chinese rose garden of Renmin Park, colorful Chinese roses are in full bloom. The texture of the petals is delicate and clear, and the color transition is natural and wonderful. This is the most intuitive manifestation of the "beauty of the flowers". The students of Grade 5 and Grade 6 immerse themselves in this sea of flowers and embark on a wonderful journey of capturing the "beauty of the flowers" and creating the "beauty of the paintings".
In the preparatory stage of the activity, art teachers carried out knowledge enlightenment in art classes one week in advance. The students watched high-definition pictures of Chinese roses, appreciated classic flower paintings, discussed the expressive techniques of different painters, and carefully previewed the "Sketching Materials of Chinese Roses" manual, making full preparations for capturing the "beauty of the flowers" and creating the "beauty of the paintings". In terms of material preparation, the school made full use of existing resources and provided students with tools such as magnifying glasses and small spray bottles to help them observe the details of the flowers better. The photographers also prepared professional equipment to record the wonderful moments of the activity.
On the day of the activity, the students arrived at the Chinese rose garden. Holding a magnifying glass, the art teacher walked among the flowers, explaining to the students the structure and color changes of the Chinese roses, as well as how to incorporate these observations into their painting creations. Subsequently, the teacher gave a live sketching demonstration, explaining the techniques of composition, color application, and detail depiction while painting. The students created their works in groups. Under the teacher's round-the-clock guidance, they focused on capturing the unique postures of each flower, innovated boldly, and tried different painting styles. At the end of the activity, the students shared their works, exchanged their creative experiences, and jointly enjoyed the fun of artistic creation.
In the school's "One Aesthetic Education Thing" activity, the art subject has opened multiple doors to art for students, helping them achieve the "beauty of paintings" in their artistic creations, and in the process, fostering the "beauty of people".
In the future, the school will continue to deepen art education, integrating the concepts of the "beauty of flowers", the "beauty of paintings", the "Huamei" charm, and the "beauty of people" into every aspect of education and teaching. It will keep exploring and innovating, enabling every student to shine in the world of art and grow into a talented individual with artistic literacy and an innovative spirit in the new era. We look forward to the students continuing to progress on their artistic journey, creating more outstanding works, and painting a wonderful picture of their own life!
