ISNS Young Stars Shine in The Wizard of Oz｜《绿野仙踪》音乐剧首秀

The ISNS Performing Arts Department proudly celebrated a major milestone with the debut of its very first annual Primary Musical Troupe production, The Wizard of Oz. This landmark performance was more than just a show—it was the culmination of eight months of dedication, creativity, and growth, showcasing the incredible talents of our young performers.

The production offered students a transformative opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of theater. From mastering lines and choreography to learning the intricacies of stage presence and vocal expression, students embraced every element of the production with passion and perseverance.

“It has been an absolute privilege to work with such a talented and dedicated group of young performers,” said Mr. Sommerville. “Each student—from the smallest Munchkin to the bravest Lion—brought their unique energy and spirit to the stage, making this production a magical experience for everyone involved.”

8 Months of Rehearsals

Throughout months of rehearsals, students not only developed artistic skills but also cultivated essential life lessons. They learned the importance of teamwork, time management, discipline, and problem-solving. As they balanced schoolwork and rehearsals, the troupe demonstrated resilience, commitment, and an infectious enthusiasm that inspired the entire ISNS community.

Behind the scenes, the production was a collaborative effort involving students, teachers, and parents. From prop management and costume design to backdrop painting and musical accompaniment, the entire process was a celebration of community spirit. The inclusive nature of the show brought together students across primary grade levels, fostering empathy, patience, and mutual respect. 

When the Curtain Closed

The final performances delighted audiences of parents, peers, and staff with laughter, applause, and admiration. Whether portraying Dorothy, the Tin Man, Glinda, or the vibrant citizens of Oz, each student’s contribution was vital to the success of the show. Their joy in performing was matched only by the pride beaming from the audience.

As the curtain closed on this inaugural performance, it was clear that The Wizard of Oz was more than a play—it was a journey of personal growth and collective achievement. The experience left students with lasting memories and the confidence to take on new challenges, both on and off the stage.

长达八个月的排练

在数月排练过程中，学生不仅提升了艺术技能，也获得了宝贵的生活经验。他们学会了团队合作、时间管理、纪律和解决问题的能力。在兼顾课业与排练的过程中，剧团展现出坚韧不拔的精神与满满的热情，感染了整个ISNS社区。

在幕后，这场演出同样是一场全校协作的盛会。道具管理、服装设计、背景绘画、音乐伴奏等环节都有学生、老师与家长的参与。演出以小学各年级学生为主角，促进了共情、耐心与彼此尊重，体现了社区凝聚力与包容精神。

当帷幕落下

最终演出赢得了家长、同学和教职员工的一致好评，现场笑声、掌声不断。无论是饰演多萝西、铁皮人、格林达，还是色彩斑斓的奥兹国居民，每位学生都为演出成功贡献了重要一份子。他们在舞台上的快乐与台下观众的骄傲彼此交汇。
