7 Years of Growth: A Home at MIS
"As one of the founding students of Mis, Michael Zheng spent seven years here. "MIS is my second home," he said. "From a young boy to a high school graduate, and a soon-to-be university student, these seven years have flown by. The school has witnessed every step of my growth."
Holistic Education, Outstanding Achievements
When asked why he chose MIS, Michael recalls, "The spacious, bright classrooms and beautiful campus won me over at first sight." But what truly shaped him was the school’s unique learning environment and the dedicated mentorship of the teachers. "Students here thrive on teamwork—expressing boldly while listening attentively. The teachers are both our mentors and friends."

Physics teacher Fasial captivated him with humor and razor-sharp explanations.
Math teacher Teresa tailored study plans for each student, emphasizing, "Math isn’t about rote memorization but cultivating a way of thinking." Under her guidance, Michael achieved great improvement in math.
Music teacher Fred sacrificed holiday breaks to mentor him on my music projects. "Without their selfless support, I wouldn’t be where I am today," Michael says.

Academic, Artistic, and Athletic Excellence
"Persevere, and you will succeed" is Michael’s motto—a principle mirrored in his outstanding exam results (Math A*, Music A, Physics A) and competition honors (Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award, UK Math Challenge Bronze, etc.).
A pianist for 13 years, Michael holds Grade 10 certification from the China Musicians Association and ABRSM Grade 8. Despite a busy schedule, he practices two hours daily. "Sometimes my fingers go numb, but the thrill of mastering a difficult passage makes it all worthwhile," he shares. The cello is another musical companion.
The pool is his second arena—as swim team captain, his rigorous training (four weekly sessions of 3,000 meters) earned him victories in international school leagues. "The toughest days meant swimming 10,000 meters, but that perseverance taught me true sportsmanship." He’s also a familiar face on the tennis court, calling sports the best stress reliever.
"My achievements owe much to MIS’s holistic education and my parents’ unwavering support." To younger students, he advises: "Cherish your time here. Beyond knowledge, you’ll learn how to think and collaborate—skills that last a lifetime."
Looking ahead, this multi-talented young man will pursue dual dreams as a pianist and data analyst, writing the next chapter of his life with passion and perseverance.
